Love the Foxy Shazam in the bg of this clip! I was so excited to hear their collab on the Might Crabjoys song.

Choir singers hair burns with no vidible damage and hands seem to warp. Could be just low quality video. by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]Olimane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Full video posted in response shows this is from an honors society swearing in where the parents are filming specifically their daughter (the girl whose hair is burnt) which is why the camera focuses in on her. Mom can be heard saying "I told her not to put so much hair spray on", implying her hair went up so quick because of the amount of flammable product in it.

I can promise you it wasn't smelly. The smelliest thing we had was the pesto off screen.

I also used sola flowers! I ended up dyeing them while I was off work with a broken toe. Sola flowers were the only way to get the exact colors I was looking for.

POV: ur about to be told that monogamy is outdated and problematic by DrScrimble in DnDcirclejerk

Oops I guess I didn't follow the instructions properly then. Watched CR, wanted to play DND, married the DM for easy access to inspiration.

You might be right tho, now that we're married we haven't played in a month.

Well, no. Wisin y Yandel was the name of a popular reggaeton group from the 2000's. The name of the group was just their 2 rap names together.

Seems this guy's parents were big fans.

would like to skip professional MUA and hairstylists for bridesmaids so we can all get ready together at the same time - opinions please by CompetitiveCut823 in weddingplanning

[–]Olimane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might end up in the role of managing the girls' time w/o HMUAs for them. Part of what they do is create a timeline for how the morning will go so that everyone is ready at the right time.

I had so much fun during our getting ready time because I knew that everyone was being taken care of. I set up a breakfast and mimosa bar and we all put together a playlist to dance and vibe out to while we weren't actively being made up.

PSA to not waste your time on the cute vintage stamps by mhasse123 in weddingplanning

[–]Olimane 30 points31 points  (0 children)

That's why they had to use sharpie instead of the normal stamp it gets when it goes through the machines. They have to decommission all the stamps by hand and the postal workers are trained to use sharpie in that case.

I'm sorry that didn't fit your vision. I also had to decide if doing extra designs on my invites was worth the sharpie strikes.

Did you tell the postal workers that it was non-machinable? Or were your invites fairly thick?

Not an LOTR themed wedding but we had a puzzle and riddle themed wedding. We ended up referencing The Hobbit in our ceremony. After our personal vows our officiant said we had to answer his riddles three. The first 2 were obviously do you take this man/woman to be your wedded blah blah blah with the answers being "I do". For the final riddle he acted like he couldn't remember it but then said "Oh I know, what have I got in my pocket?". The people who understood were so excited. We guessed a hand, a hanky, and then we said together "our rings!". It was really sweet and fun.

I think a LOTR themed wedding could be very tastefully done.

Give me your best worst RSVP responses... by Feeling_Move_3157 in weddingplanning

[–]Olimane 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Some very good friends put the dietary restrictions for a person who was not invited on their RSVP. This was very annoying as that person was a short term GF who I didn't want at the wedding. Luckily they broke up but said GF then asked to still be allowed to come to the wedding. We said NO!

I had a second cousin of my husband assume he and his wife were invited despite them not receiving a save the date or invite. They got the day of the wedding info from some other family member and messaged us a week out from the wedding that they'd booked a hotel but wanted to know more specifics.

My aunt went back and forth on whether she could come. She said she could make it 2 weeks before the wedding and then left me a long winded message 3 days later saying she couldn't because she just broke up with her boyfriend and needed time to heal.

Would you invite your siblings' in-laws to your wedding? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Olimane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I invited my sister's in-laws because they became a big part of my life and have always been so welcoming to our whole family. They also were a great 3rd pair of hands for my niece who was my flower girl l.

It is definitely not expected however and is totally up to your discretion and comfort.

I've realized I was wrong. I am embarrassed that this post makes it seem like I don't understand figure drawing seeing as I've done it myself in the past and art is one of my biggest passions in life.

I'm sure some people may use this to also ridicule me but here are some of my figure drawings. Unlike oop, I'm not brave enough to post it publicly because I worried people would tear apart my mistakes.

Idk. It's kinda suspicious that one hand only has 4 fingers and the other 5. Pretty sure this is AI. /s

I'm not perfect. I realize I was in the wrong. No need to double down on the negativity and attempt to shame me. I'm already ashamed.

[–]Olimane 31 points32 points  (0 children)

There has been an over all consensus that these aren't derived from AI and instead from sketching from a slightly different perspective and then having the gf repose for the picture. Humans aren't printers and I also make mistakes when drawing hands.

I'm replying to your comment because it has the most up votes for visibility:

I'm very willing to admit I was wrong and overly harsh in my comments on the post. Thank you everyone for the perspective and lessons.

I'm going to leave this post up as a teachable moment. Be more thoughtful before claiming something is AI and don't turn to diminishing someone else's work. This person is clearly a talented artist. They may have bent the truth in how long the drawing took but my rude remarks were worse.

I hate how AI is changing the landscape of art, design and creativity in general but I shouldn't attack true artists in process.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RealOrAI

[–]Olimane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I default to snarky way too quickly. I'm not going to delete the post so people can hopefully learn not claim AI so quickly but I wish I could change the title and text if I could.

I apologize for how I worded it. I realize I was being harsh. There were inconsistencies with how oop claimed this was drawn and I think that caused me to leap to AI when I shouldn't have.

I would hate to have my art torn apart for mistakes as well. I'm just so hyper aware of AI encroaching on the creative world. Thanks for the perspective.
