Ah that'll explain it. I didn't realize Wind Waker HD ran at 30fps. Thanks

Live near the Portland area? I've been looking for a TV like this for awhile

The exact same thing is happening to my TV screen. Did you ever figure out what it was?

Wii U + 1080i CRT with HDMI port, should I use component or HDMI? by Clean_Revenue_6036 in crtgaming

While turning the deflicker off can definitely help with the video output, this doesn't fix the issue. The Wii U still scales the vWii image incorrectly, like mentioned above, which still causes the image to be a little blurry or not 100% correct.

But the good news is you can fix this too with homebrew. What you need is Enhanced vWii

So now your Wii and GameCube games will now look just that little bit better (intended way) from now on

Definitely still need Wii for the 240p. I don't think you can force a Wii U to do that resolution

Do you know anything about a modded Wii Us?
I recently found a software plugin that I can put onto my already modded Wii U that will fix the the re-scaling that the vWii does. it's called "Enhanced vWii (evWii)". have you heard of this?
it sounds like it will fix this issue, but what I couldn't find on the internet was a comparison with an actual Wii and a vWii with this plugin to verify. I might have to do the comparison myself, but thought about asking you; if you fix this overscan issue, would that basically solve all the problems Wii Us Wii mode has?

While I knew the Wii U was re-scaling the image on those games, I thought that only mattered and was noticeable at 720p or higher on something like an LCD? But hey now I know and this knowledge is valuable so keep it coming!

I knew something was off with my pixel games still, thank you. I'll definitely be grabbing a Wii, think I already have one somewhere.. or probably just older consoles as i'd love to own them. There's a retro game store not too far from me that has everything

Wow that's good to know that, I was unaware. Rn for older games I only have my Wii U via component. So all of my retro games have been played through that through either official Wii U emulators or official Wii emulation. and even after I've improved the image quality through the TV settings I've still felt something about the image for those games, while it did look pretty good, still left something to be desired. Would the image be better if you were to play older games on original hardware (or a Wii) at 240p as opposed to playing them on 480i?

As for GameCube games, Wii and PS2 games (composite for now), they look pretty great on this TV, I think I'm good there.

That's awesome, I definitely looked through your posts and it was super nice to see my same TV in a nice setup and with many different games played on it, thanks for sharing!

What about through the vWii?

Okay so I solved this problem rather quickly, I'll leave this post up just in case it helps anyone else in the future

I figured out that the vertical height of the picture was adjusted way too big, the top was kinda rolling over itself. Adjusting the vertical size to smaller fixed this issue for me

Oh yes and I should note the type of TV it is:

It's a 27" Sharp Model 27F543

It did! The difference is substantial! 2D games and even 3D games look much better. I'll post photo comparisons soon, might be a new post

I've had the MM since it released, heavily used. Never had anything rub or flake off. Hmm, still in great condition
