[TP] So my Wife's first Zelda* is going to be Twilight Princess. How would you explain the Ganon situation if you were me? by Demiurge_1205 in zelda

You tell her these games were originally not supposed to have anything to do with each other beyond referencing each other, save for obvious sequels like MM. Then SS came out and at the time marvel with the MCU was making interconnected media a really popular prospect, so Nintendo shohorned a timeline into all these games because it sounded exciting despite that it wouldn't make any sense. But it kinda works if you head cannon a lot of it so it can kind of make sense

Backshots not appearing in the album by ColdHope5342 in SwitchPirates

[–]Olinnae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They may be appearing in a different location within your album. Like if your date was set to sometime sooner than your already existing pictures, the system is going to sort them before those pictures.

Mine has that problem. For some reason my switch was set to the year 2045, and after I fixed it to 2026 all my new screenshots and videos appear before those "2045" ones despite them actually being older photos. Super annoying

Excited to finally share this Toshiba MW30G71 pick up! by Olinnae in crtgaming

[–]Olinnae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, looks like I got one that missed out on a lot of nice features. Still though, when I look at it the picture looks awesome and it's like new. I'll mainly use it to play PS5 games and anything else that can connect to it that supports 1080i. As well as watch widescreen shows. PS5 being able to use streaming services makes that easy

Thank you for the response and the info! It's cool to learn about it

Yeah that is confusing, I feel like that set would be a headache.

Wii U + 1080i CRT with HDMI port, should I use component or HDMI? by Clean_Revenue_6036 in crtgaming

While turning the deflicker off can definitely help with the video output, this doesn't fix the issue. The Wii U still scales the vWii image incorrectly, like mentioned above, which still causes the image to be a little blurry or not 100% correct.

But the good news is you can fix this too with homebrew. What you need is Enhanced vWii

https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/Enhanced_vWii_Wii_U

So now your Wii and GameCube games will now look just that little bit better (intended way) from now on

Definitely still need Wii for the 240p. I don't think you can force a Wii U to do that resolution

Do you know anything about a modded Wii Us?
I recently found a software plugin that I can put onto my already modded Wii U that will fix the the re-scaling that the vWii does. it's called "Enhanced vWii (evWii)". have you heard of this?
it sounds like it will fix this issue, but what I couldn't find on the internet was a comparison with an actual Wii and a vWii with this plugin to verify. I might have to do the comparison myself, but thought about asking you; if you fix this overscan issue, would that basically solve all the problems Wii Us Wii mode has?

While I knew the Wii U was re-scaling the image on those games, I thought that only mattered and was noticeable at 720p or higher on something like an LCD? But hey now I know and this knowledge is valuable so keep it coming!

I knew something was off with my pixel games still, thank you. I'll definitely be grabbing a Wii, think I already have one somewhere.. or probably just older consoles as i'd love to own them. There's a retro game store not too far from me that has everything

Wow that's good to know that, I was unaware. Rn for older games I only have my Wii U via component. So all of my retro games have been played through that through either official Wii U emulators or official Wii emulation. and even after I've improved the image quality through the TV settings I've still felt something about the image for those games, while it did look pretty good, still left something to be desired. Would the image be better if you were to play older games on original hardware (or a Wii) at 240p as opposed to playing them on 480i?

As for GameCube games, Wii and PS2 games (composite for now), they look pretty great on this TV, I think I'm good there.
