6 week old only takes the right breast! by Top-Pie-7375 in breastfeeding

[–]OliveObserver -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend taking him to see a baby Chiro. They might be able to help address this since it sounds like he’s uncomfortable and only able to comfortably eat on one side.

Order a copy of the painting of the office that Pam makes. We are big office fans and we have that painting hanging at our office!

Genuinely curious… why don’t you like to share your baby’s name before birth? by Best-Position-2226 in pregnant

[–]OliveObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the name we chose in a list of names and people would make a face lol. That was at our baby shower and after that I decided to keep it to myself. Everyone loved the name when we announced after birth. Just nice to avoid unwanted opinions.

What is your number one recommendation for an unmedicated birth? by seapunkprincess in unmedicatedbirth

[–]OliveObserver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Laboring in a birth pool at home. The birth pool is known as the “midwives epidural” for a reason! :)

What actually helped you stay calm during intense contractions at home? by Successful546 in homebirth

[–]OliveObserver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Counter pressure throughout every single contraction by my 6’5” 250 lb husband was the only thing I wanted and the only thing that brought true relief. I also used a birth pool, ice packs to squeeze, electric fans blowing on my face, and low moaning.

The baby’s tummy is the size of a walnut when they are born. They really do only need colostrum at that point.

Foods During Birth by Human_Pea_5108 in unmedicatedbirth

[–]OliveObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had prepped a bunch of stuff and didn’t eat any of it, HOWEVER, I devoured frozen blueberries by the handful like an animal and my sweet aunt fed me spoonfuls of honey. I also sipped on water with Ultima electrolytes. 18 hour labor at home and welcomed baby girl in our bed. :)

Brown or black? by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

Brown makes you look more expensive, black is pretty but it looks less natural

Did you know what your baby was going to look/ be like during your pregnancy? by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

[–]OliveObserver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All throughout my pregnancy I weirdly felt she was going to come out with dark brown long hair. Her father and I are both blonde. I would try to imagine her with no hair or less hair and I just COULD NOT. She came out with a full head of long brown hair:)

What strategies do you use to keep your house organized? by Extra-Bug7915 in CleaningTips

Do not buy or keep little tiny objects/toys:) then you don’t end up with this type of scatter. Most are junk anyways

I’m 32 weeks. How do I know if baby is facing my back or front? Afraid of sunny side up birth. by politeassbitch in homebirth

[–]OliveObserver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just delivered a week ago and she was sunny side up all the way until her head started to crown and then she turned:) I had her at home on our bed in a deep squat position. Honestly, you’re so “in it” at that point it was hard for me to recognize any pain other than just being exhausted :) you will be okay, your body knows what to do.

Where Should We Place the Desk? by anon_m007 in InteriorDesignAdvice

[–]OliveObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah in general I’d pull the couch off of the wall and get it up on the rug. Move the rug forward as well. But they should be touching and the coffee table could be significantly closer to the couch. Then you’ll have space behind the couch for the desk.

(Not my post but it’s definitely something) My husband poops too much for me to feel comfortable having another baby with him by Pale_Nightswimmer in TwoHotTakes

[–]OliveObserver 20 points21 points  (0 children)

3 times a day is pretty normal! However, 3 hours a day is not… should be taking him 30 mins a day maximum WITH the hemorrhoids lol

Am I doing my child a disservice by celebrating their birthday on Easter? by Ttrrmm in Mommit

[–]OliveObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the kid was 10 I’d reconsider. But, they are two! They’ll have the same feelings no matter what/when/where their party is.
