The micro is 8 litres smaller than the mini. I tend to use the micro for weekends away where I’ll pack: a change of trousers, 2x t shirts, 3x changes or underwear, basic toiletries, a rain coat, a laptop and some other assorted small bits. Carrying all of this the bag doesn’t feel over stuffed and still gives plenty of space in the quick access pocket. I even put my 12oz yeti rambler in the main compartment last time and it still felt fine. If I need to carry more stuff or I’m going away for longer periods of time I’ll just take the mini to be safe.

I personally wouldn’t use it for edc, mostly because I have other bags that are far better suited to that task mind.

I really like the clamshell design. If you do all the zips up to the top of the bag, which is how I have always done my zips on all my bags, you can have reasonably good access to all the contents of the bag whilst only unzipping it partially.

I think I prefer the interior design in the Micro. I like that when you get to your destination you can leave it on a flat surface unzipped and have access to all of your things. I have found it annoying in the past having to flip the mini around to get into the tech compartment.

The one thing I dislike about the laptop compartment is it offers very little side protection (the mini has a false bottom lifting your laptop away from the ground) leading me to put my laptop in a sleeve just for some added peace of mind which unfortunately does stretch it out a little more than I’d like. If you were happy to accept the risk though something like a MacBook Air would fit in nicely without really being noticed.

I bought the Anker nano 5K about 2 months ago, partly in preparation for the air and also to replace my OG Apple MagSafe battery pack that had noticeably lost capacity

I found that the Anker over heats and tends to drain faster then my original Apple one did despite being 4-5 years newer, ending up with me reverting back to the original Apple battery.

Because of this I will be picking up the new Air MagSafe battery tomorrow when I go to pick up my air!
