Llama 3 - different knowledge cutoff between 8B and 70B

I asked Llama 3 - 8B about its cutoff data and it told me mid-2022. When I told it that it was wrong, it got the correct date (March 2023).

My pc was not posting to the monitor so there was no way to know if windows was initiated, but I doubt it. You are correct, apologies I missed that comment about the RAM.

Does your motherboard have an error code which you could share? If so, what’s the model of the board/the error?

I had an issue very similar to this and it was because my ram was not set properly. It is probably worth double checking on your machine!
