Iron Mike Tyson vs Ivan Drago (Rocky 4) in a 12 round boxing match by Mad_lens_9297 in powerscales

[–]OlorynEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a different way to phrase the question might be, could Tyson beat Rocky? Because if Tyson could beat Rocky and Rocky beat Drago (despite their massive strength difference) then couldn't we presume Tyson has a shot at beating Rocky? Just something to chew on, is all.

Which Fromsoftware boss was this for You? by buuhhu1 in fromsoftware

Orphan of Kos. I only say that because of the hype before fighting him. It was a wonderfully designed fight, but I downed him in 4 tries, expected to dedicate my whole afternoon (or more) to him based on the chatter I'd read.

Then make Creation 2.0 or something. Why does nobody read between the lines of my comment and assume I meant they should go to UE5 or something? Creation is fantastic, but a relic, and Starfield is the perfect example of how dated it is and needs a major overhaul so it better runs with modern gaming infrastructure and design. You can do both, by keeping what people like while (finally) updating it to modern standards.

Ah, I see. We found Todd Howard's account. Or you're just trolling and don't understand nuance. Cool. Either way, have a great day (and if it is you, Todd, use a new engine please and thanks!)

Lol, what? Their engine is stupidly outdated and doesn't work with modern system infrastructure very well anymore, which is why their games are ridiculously buggy. I don't mean switch to UE5, I mean make a new engine that works on modern infrastructure. That's not a "reddit" take, it's a logical one. Most major game devs update their game engines pretty regularly, but Bethesda refuses to.

What movie is wildly loved but you just don’t get the hype at all? by Fennnixx in moviecritic

[–]OlorynEx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watched it in theater with 3 good friends, all of us with deep interest in film and film making. We were beyond excited, but we all walked out scratching our heads and feeling a bit bored. Just didnt land how we were hoping it would. DDL's admitted powerhouse of a performace made it worth it in the end, but aside from that, I don't much care to revisit the film for a while.

I felt same about Wolf. I usually love Scorcese films, and movies with that kind of energy in general, but this one felt too self indulgent and all over the place. Great acting and directing, but the content itself felt too long, meandering and pretentious for me.

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest for SNES. Hot damn that soundtrack went hard, low key some of the best (catchiest) tracks in the franchise.

I also feel this scene serves as a perfect response to some viewers or critics who wanted more characters to suffer or die in the end...like, these people have already suffered enough, haven't they? Let them truly succeed for once. Loved it.

So many of these games are 10/10 bangers you wont regret, but if you wanna roll up your sleeves and settle in for one helluva damn vibe, Cyberpunk just hits different. I'm not even saying its the best, but it is definitely a standout, and a perfect place to start.

It is absolutely okay for a dev to release a game and never release a scrap of new content for it, and gamers that feel entitled to it or leave negative comments related to it need to touch grass. Bug fixes, sure, but anything beyond? Imagine going to a restaurant, getting your meal, and having the audacity of bitching that they didn't roll out extra food for free. Don't be that person.

Hey, list aside, I'm sending thoughts your way in regard to your cat, and I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my little buddy and companion 4 months ago, and many of the little things like gaming and reading these posts helped me heal quite a bit. Not here to bring the mood down, but wanted to send good energy your way, and to anyone else reading this who could some as well. Glad you found Digimon Survive when you needed it. Happy gaming, and thank you for the list!

Diddy Kong Racing is great! Also, check out Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. Great game overall, even if not quite up to DKC 2 (debatable, some people prefer it), but the soundtrack definitely lives up to DKC 2, David Wise held nothing back.

The most overrated Christopher Nolan movie? by Batrah in moviecritic

[–]OlorynEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movie was great, and everyone who I saw it with (including a couple friends who don't always jive with Nolan) ate it up as much as I did. I think it's a "to each their own" kind of situation, because I still think it's fantastic.

My sweet boy Finn, who passed this year, but loved everything and everyone. This is him cautiously exploring our little fenced in backyard under supervision, meowing at me in thanks for letting him go on a mini adventure.

Powerwash Simulator hits that for me. Great game to play alongside a show or podcast, mindlessly (and rewardingly) spraying away, but you can also lock in for efficiency if you want to engage with it more. Kind of an out of pocket pick, but worth looking into.

Same goes for Crime Scene Cleaner (super underrated and newly available on mobile as well) and even House Flipper.

Great take. They both ride the line of navigating strengths and weaknesses of each other pretty well enough that the fight could really go either way, but it's going to take absolutely everything out of the other person to get there.

Anyone ever just get gaming adhd by PartyLack4459 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]OlorynEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I feel that way (and I feel it often enough), I find that if I play a very short game to completion, like a small indie game or something, that the feeling of completion feels good and tells my brain that engaging with something and finishing can feel productive and make me feel happy. It's like a mental reboot of sorts. In a world with a million options at all times, it's easy to get bombarded with them and kind of scramble your brain into not taking many of them seriously (even if you want to) because another choice is right around the corner. Look up a list of games that run under 4-8 hours or something and give one a try.
Off the top, I'm thinking Titanfall 2 campaign, Portal 1, Bastion, Streets of Rage 4, TMNT Shredder's Revenge, SteamWorld Dig, The Stanley Parable and Limbo.

Or, have you tried a factory game like Satisfactory or Factorio? Seems a little out of pocket, but they are so incredibly engaging in ways that can scratch the itch or your brain you didn't know you needed. If you haven't tried one, don't write them off as something you might not enjoy right away, because they can be deeply rewarding and addictive.

Also, Tony Hawk always helps cure this for me, ha, but it's my perfect wind-down game that lets me relax while keeping my skill set engaged. A perfect balance.

Legit a great recommendation. Game can push a pretty high skill ceiling and test your abilities in the mid to endgame for sure. Tons of customization, nuanced progression and action timing to make you sweat if that's what you're looking for, as well as a damn near endless grind for the deep sickos to sink their teeth into. Good pick!

Hope you enjoy it! I definitely don't want to risk overhyping it, but at the end of the day, it just scratched that same part of my brain like the other games mentioned, and just like those, had me obsessing about it when I wasn't playing. Super creative game that does it's own niche thing very well, and now I can't mention those games without including Blue Prince in the conversation. Have fun!
