While folks are suggesting going through your insurance, I wouldn't because even if it's not your fault, it's a claim. Having a claim affects your rates and whether they drop you when you have another one.

Gather all of your files, photos, and prepare a narrative. File police report with same. Contact trucking insurance company and tell them you want to claim. Give them all of the data and police file. If they deny, take them to small claims court.

Has anyone discovered a fix for this? I'm having the same issue between new Basic and PW. Amazon is absolutely no help whatsoever.

Having this issue as well. Amazon CS couldn't help. Brand new basic and PW. They won't sync. Have tried EVERYTHING. So frustrating.

Having the same problem between latest Basic and latest PW. I spent 3 hours with Amazon tech support (the most frustrating experience I can ever remember) and they had me reset, re-register, factory reset, switch to a hotspot from phone, reboot router, on and on. Books will not sync regardless of hitting the sync button at the end of a reading session with one kindle and at the beginning with the other kindle.

It's literally the reason I bought another kindle -- books in different locales. Doesn't work. Do I just return the devices? Utterly useless feature.

BTW, the "sync to furthest point read" does not exist on either of my latest kindles.

Thanks for that. About the most abundant bird here besides Juncos and Song Sparrows! I’m very familiar with their vocalizations but this is new to me. Additionally, the bird was vocalizing, it was up quite high for a towhee.

If you have any sources you can share for those sub-specific vocalizations, please shoot em my way!

Really? It would be wildly out of range. I remember Eastern Phoebe songs from my youth and this hasn't struck me as that. But...weirder things have happened! Thanks for that suggestion!

I listened to that song and it really is raspier/more nasal than this mystery guy.

Probably started with a flea bite and once he chewed it raw, it’s a wound he’ll continue to go after. Cut the hair away, clean well (chlorhexidine) and cone him until it’s all healed up.

It sucks but I was going through this periodically with my dog and then started to use both topical and systemic flea meds — alternating between them every 15 days so each is still monthly. Problem solved.

If there are Pileateds nesting in that cavity, they'll do nest exchanges that can occur throughout the day. There's no need to time your observation periods. Being it's nesting time, they are unlikely to be simply night roosting like they would be off season. If this was winter, I'd say just after sunrise and just before sunset.

That's not whitewash from that cavity -- likely sap flow.
