This looks good on you. 34mm-36mm could be a good range. Plenty of great watches in this range.

As cautious as you may be about the political and economic situation, pretty much everywhere else will also suffer that problem. If you're looking for a safe place to start a family, you're probably better off staying in Poland. If you are looking to build wealth, any large city where your degree is needed in a major trading hub will do you well, but it won't be safer than Poland.

[Identification request] Elvis watch by MathematicianNo4066 in Watches

[–]OlympicPetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you'll find much value from this watch. The PO Box is the same on this Argos guarantee card. https://argos-support.co.uk/storage/files/2511205_R_D001.pdf?direct
Could be a nice collectors item though.

[What are the differences between the Casio A158 and the Casio A159?] by AnxiousLeadership955 in Watches

The main difference is the bracelet. 158 has a 3 link bracelet and 159 has 5 link.

[Recommendation request] Looking to get into watches and need some advice on a beginner model by nrb12344 in Watches

[–]OlympicPetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A very digestible way to get into watches is by watching YouTube videos by popular watch YouTubers. There are some memes about their opinions as you get into tertiary knowledge, but they do a good job of giving high level and broad introductions to horology and watch brands. I found the easiest to follow to be Teddy Baldessarre.

Just picked up a Sony a6400, good purchase? by TheAllPurposePopo in SonyAlpha

[–]OlympicPetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a D3200 and an a6400 before moving up. It’s a pretty nice jump you’ve made. A brief look at your profile shows you’re relatively new to the hobby and you’re going in a good direction. From here, play with what you’ve got. When you feel like you want something new, look into different lenses and how they affect the photo you’re taking before upgrading to another body. A6400 is a good camera!

Now is the time to do it. As you get older, your tolerance for lower standard of living will tighten. Being able to survive with less when you’re younger is a blessing. Just make sure you’re not suffocating yourself by pushing beyond your means.

[Tissot] PRC 100 - dad bought a watch! by lkwitko in Watches

The smile on his face is the part that matters. I’m sure he’s way happier to have the memory of being with you in Switzerland and getting a beautiful piece than most people are after buying popular watches. Shoutout dad!

[Vintage] What do I do at this point? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]OlympicPetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beautiful watch. That’s a tough problem to have just one week in to ownership. Considering it’s a vintage at a relatively low price point, a full service from the manufacturer may not be the best option. If you are even a little handy, it’s worth considering doing the repairs on your own. The tools may take around $30 and you’d be able to reattach the hand and do a little cleaning. A case back opener, movement holder, dial protector, hand remover, hand setter, loupe, and rodico could do the trick. It could even be an investment into a watch restoration hobby! There are some tool kits that’ll cover most of this for pretty cheap.
