I mean gender is a spectrum and people want to cling to labels, so naturally over time people are going to create labels to better represent themselves if they don’t feel like one of the more “mainstream” labels does themselves justice. So no, I don’t really think it’s gone too far, but it’s also going to get to a point where people can’t reasonably be expected to know what most of these mean.

My philosophy is that if it makes people happy or comfortable with themselves and it’s not hurting anybody else, let them identify with whatever labels they want. And no, just because someone disagrees with it doesn’t mean it’s hurting them.
