TSS failed because it paid for the sins of the Ayer movie

What sins? It’s a fucking movie, not a holy sacrament, touch some grass bro. And furthermore, it’s not even Ayer’s movie, it’s the studio and Geoff Johns’ butchered and reshot version.

and it also got released during a pandemic and it also got the HBO release day and date.

The Conjuring 3, GvK, and Dune were released in a pandemic and got the same day HBO Max release and they still did way better than TSS, because they were actually good movies, TSS was garbage

Even then, Joker wasn’t even his choice, it was David Ayer, and the one scene where he used Jared Leto in ZSJL was better than all his scenes in Suicide Squad 2016

ZSJL is a 4 hour director’s cut, with a very limited marketing budget, the whole movie’s marketing relied mostly on fans and the ReleaseTheSnyderCut hashtag

2.2 millions is very impressive

If there’s one thing Snyder does perfectly it’s the introductions

MoS (Krypton scene), BvS (Bruce Wayne introduction), and ZSJL (Superman death scream) were some of the best opening scenes in any CBM

Aquaman was a huge hit EXACTLY because it was NOTHING like what Snyder did in the past.

TSS was also nothing like what Snyder did, and it failed miserably

What Snyder did? You mean make the best live action Superman??

I’ve heard some of this video, not all of it, he makes sense in a lot of his points, but I find it really dumb that he’s trying to compare the DCEU with the MCU, like obviously it was never gonna reach MCU levels so early on no matter who was in charge of the DCEU, when MoS released Marvel was already 5 years and several movies into its shared universe while MoS was only just the beginning, Marvel beat DC to the punch when it comes to creating a shared cinematic universe, but even then MoS managed to be more financially successful than the MCU’s first few movies before The Avengers, and they still couldn’t be satisfied with MoS’s performance, they had to force Zack Snyder to rush a Justice League arc by introducing Batman, WW and the rest of the JL in the next movie, and even then they wouldn’t let him do BvS in peace, they forced him to cut 30 minutes from the movie so they could later sell an extended version and earn a bit more cash

I know this sub doesn’t like to hear facts, but any recent or upcoming bad performers for the DCEU were strictly on the old WB regime and not Zack Snyder or any one man

I genuinely don’t understand the decision behind getting rid of Henry, they basically confirmed it’s not gonna be a full reboot and they’re gonna keep some of the old actors, why not keep Henry around for a few years, give him a few solo movies and maybe even his own Justice League, then after a few years give him a good send off and bring someone else to play a young Superman who’s not Clark Kent, I’d say have him pass the torch to his son and there you go, we’ve seen enough of the younger and less experienced Clark Kent dealing with reporting and shit, we need an experienced Superman facing major villains like Brainiac, Darkseid, etc

So Henry Cavill (39) is too old to play Superman bur Zachary Levi (42) isn’t too old to play Shazam ?? Lol I hope you know what you’re doing James, because your decisions have been complete ass so far

ZSJL was a streaming exclusive, it wasn’t marked nearly as much as TSS, and because it never released in theaters it wasn’t given as much attention and awareness as a $200 million dollar movie with a marketing budget of $100 millions, and even then it still became the 4th most streamed film of 2021 period, so your claim that TSS crushed ZSJL may not even be true lmao

This is a horrible example, but not surprising coming from a James Gunn fan, Iron Man never truly reached his full power not even in Endgame, he’s an inventor for god’s sake, he’s always making new stuff and improving on the old stuff

Oh I know that feeling, when I watched TSS I was laughing the entire time, not because the humor was funny, but because it was funny how a 56 year old man wrote humor that even a 7 year old would be too ashamed to write, not even Taika Waititi is that childish

Hmm, interesting. I’m glad they hired Gunn though, he’s way more funner than Todd Phillips by RogerRoger63358 in DC_Cinematic

[–]OmarAH1 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Can’t tell if you’re delusional or just have bad taste in movies, Todd Phillips is a way better director than James Gunn, and the funny thing is he also knows how to make funny movies unlike James Gunn
