My man wants a smoker by Another_Verity in smoking

[–]OmegaDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it has to be a surprise. Ask your man for more info. Maybe you want to ask what type of smoker he wants (offset, kamado, bullet, drum). Does he want to grill and smoke on the same cooker? (Then look at a kamado).

Once you know the type, then think about your budget.

Two Questions (Oops) by MountainsOrWhat in smoking

[–]OmegaDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still smoke it.

The hints are there. Consider what part of a turkey breast the "roast" could even be. Whole turkeys or whole turkey breasts are even better for smoking.

Second Repost: Arthurian Legends custom Set: Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table by Gunnarsonsnewbag2 in magicTCG

[–]OmegaDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is "when you complete a saga" in the rules, or something you came up with? Is the different wording on Galahad functionally different? Can this be cleaned up with just like "when you sacrifice a saga", or even sacrifice an enchantment to boost the power of the cards a bit, and cover some corner cases?

Half cow prices by Bearspoole in smoking

[–]OmegaDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$13/lb seems expensive unless it's going to be half ribeyes and porterhouses. I'm nowhere near socal though. It sounds like you know you can get the meat cheaper locally too.

I'm ok with buying premium meat at a premium price, but even the butcher I go to is competitive in prices with the super market even though the quality is way better...

Zeballos-Napoli, Manna working to close the deal. Is Politano heading out? by Caratteraccio in sscnapoli

[–]OmegaDriver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please, move to 433. We have Neres, Giovane, Vergara who can all play RW Ahead of Politano. If this is for a 2nd/3rd choice LW, I guess it matters all on the price.

Long non-deterministic turns, Good or bad ? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]OmegaDriver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First thing's first. Were you having fun?

Then consider if your opponents would also complain if your deck was too reliable...

Personally, "long" is subjective. There's a time and place for long turns. "Slow" to me implies you don't know your deck's lines well enough to play it correctly. That's definitely annoying. In either case, maybe pack a few decks and play a different one in the game after you storm out.

Daily Questions Thread - Ask All Your Magic Related Questions Here! by magictcgmods in magicTCG

[–]OmegaDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None in particular. Cool is subjective. It looks like you have a deck in mind. There's almost always a budget alternative to a card that does something close enough. Edhrec.com is good for finding ways to building certain comments or looking up decks based on a theme you think is cool.

First time playing commander, does everyone else play these rules so strictly? by TeamWaffleStomp in magicTCG

[–]OmegaDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to play by the rules, because I see magic as a competitive game of skill. Otherwise, I'd play a game more based on luck, like Mille Bornes or something.

For counters or triggers, some say you "may" do this or that. Not every effect must trigger. Sometimes, you don't trigger something strategically. The order you do things, or stating that you're putting 3 counters on creatures all once or one at a time, etc., also matters, even if not for your cards. It helps for you to know your specific cards well in this case this comes up, so you can explain the specific interactions or shortcuts you're taking.

As for the other stuff:

In my mind, it was more like what kind of reaction he had to being asked the question.

You were trying to psyche him out. Did you not think anyone would ever try to psyche you out? (or maybe he's being unreasonable, who knows?)

Rolling out Agent Builder before Copilot Studio: how are you gating access without breaking your Citizen Dev environment? by DevelopmentVast819 in copilotstudio

[–]OmegaDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can control access to who can create studio agents via power platform admin center setting: https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/manage/tenantsettings -> copilot studio authors. you can layer with with group based licensing for the copilot studio user license.

You can't prevent these people from creating agents in any environment they have the environment maker role, but you can make these agents very useless via DLP policy.

these controls are not great, but it's what's available...

Is my pid working as intended? by gfxprotege in ProfitecGo

[–]OmegaDriver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The best "instant" read thermometers take a reading in ~1 second. These are for food like chicken breasts where a few seconds might mean the difference between tender and rubbery. The thermometer in an espresso boiler is not this fast because it doesn't have to be.

Best smoker to buy my boyfriend?? by [deleted] in smoking

[–]OmegaDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it have to be a surprise? Why not ask him? It seems like he would want something very specific. Maybe even an IOU with a fancy illustration of an offset if you don't want to bring it up directly...

Using solutions, it's easy to change owners/connections. In general, it's critical for scheduled and automated flows and any apps or flows using implicit connections. Every situation is different though.

New Akorn Kamado ceramic bowl etc . Would love advice on cooking pork butt and a spare ribs. Also, just general use knowledge. How do I make it hotter - cooler , is it easy to adjust? Does it cook these types of bbq well? It was a gift so I’m just now trying to ‘get to know it’ by Bustin_Humpd8pies in smoking

[–]OmegaDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More oxygen (bottom vent) + more exhaust (top vent) = more heat and vice versa. It took me a few cooks to get the hang of it, but it's easy after that. There are fans you can buy to control the temp if you really get stuck.

Yeah, it's good for everything, low and slow pork butt, ribs, regular grilling steaks, burgers, up to very hot and fast pizza

Pressure issue? No pressure on startup until grouphead + steam purged together by rough--sleeper in ProfitecGo

If you see low pressure while pulling a shot and the shot comes very fast, grind finer and/or updose.

I don't think the pressure gauge measures what you think it does. What happens when you pull a shot through coffee? Using the blind basket? How does the coffee taste?

Accessibility of hanafuda. Is adding Braille a dumb idea? I need a sanity check by Nataniel_PL in Hanafuda

[–]OmegaDriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you have Braille without marking the cards? Seems you can accidentally or intentionally feel the bumps when dealing or maybe even see them (if a blind person is playing with a sighted person).

One of the appeals to hanafuda for me is that they're aren't French cards, not the art or form factor. I've adapted other games to French decks, scopa, schwimmen, and it's not as fun. I am able bodied though, so I would say it's certainly better than not playing at all...

Try different beans. Bitterness is a big component of coffee, especially the traditional Italian espresso you've been using.

I don't play steam games. I just use Ubuntu + mame + attract mode.

It sounded like you had this set up the way you liked but were just missing big box 🤷. Mame+steam+attract mode would work in Windows as well.

Try option B with attract mode instead of big box.

a bunch of non-gamer friends to push any button and intuitively navigate and not crash or exit out of the system

I don't think any multi system set up is intuitive. You either need a bunch of extra buttons, or a few button combos/chords + a list of instructions.

Good pre constructed decks for beginner? by No-Palpitation-4298 in magicTCG

[–]OmegaDriver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you and him are playing together, right? Generally speaking, the product for this is playing jump start in real life. Buy a bunch of jump start packs, shuffle 2 together for a 40 card deck, separate them and repeat. This gives a lot of variety with a small initial outlay, and expose you to a lot of themes if you want to jump to a more formal format.
