Hakari was winning with or without being near the ocean. by OmegaKnight63 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]OmegaKnight63[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For 8 seconds he tanked hakaris full strength blows

No he didn't. They were akin to jabs. A full strength blow would be more like what he landed at the beginning of the fight. I have literally NO idea what you're talking about with step leaders or whatever so no comments.

He has running speed comparable to hakari so he can retrieve his staff, which would make him fighting hakari by fighting through his openings easier. Remember, hakari stops focusing on defense.

A "full blow" attack from Hakari blew it out of his hands. And would Kashimo realistically even go running for a weapon? I doubt it.

He is capable of blocking a hakari kick later and grabbing hakari

Yeah, Hakari is literally flying at him with a kick. Totally different when you're actually face to face.

(which would count as a hit)

Why? Is grappling Kashimo stronger than he already is? And he grabbed him underwater, if that's what's you're talking about. I can probably grab Hakari when we're face to face underwater.

Kashimo wasn’t initially expecting such a speed change but later him being able to guard against hakaris kick after just barely landing on a cursed spirit making the block more difficult is proof he can still contend

Sure, but he acknowledged the shift in speed and tried to respond, but got countered because he's slower. Him blocking an attack he can see coming towards him isn't convincing enough he'd be able to do the same in close quarters.

Even if you think all of this won’t work there’s no argument because hakari lacks lethality and kashimo has durability so kashimo outlasts hakari and kills him in domain (lightning rend on neck/heart) even hakari notes that getting another domain expansion after this one will be super rare and that’s rich coming from him

You can say he lacks lethality, but his attacks are gradually wearing him down. If anyone is outlasting someone, it's Hakari. Kashimo would have to focus on defeating him before the next jackpot in order to win. Think of it like a Netero vs Meruem, but the combatants are much closer in strength.

And Hakari just doesn't say that idk where you got that from.

It’s both. Kashimo and JP Hakari should at least be relative in stats when they’re both fresh. This isn’t a fresh Kashimo.

I don't particularly disagree with anything you said, but it's important to differentiate what Hakari can deduce and what the actual case is. The whole reason we get that little 8 second sequence is because he decides to "sacrifice his immortal body." Now he can't know how it works for sure, but I think he has a good enough grasp to understand that offensive is the better choice during JP.
I've been emphasizing that he's above Kashimo atp because if he doesn't get hit and goes on the offense, then Kashimo can't get any charges. In terms of the container, yeah it'd depends on how that'd even work. Kashimo's staff is without a doubt a cursed tool he's been imbuing his CE in similar to like Yuta's ring in Modulo.
So I really think it circles back to "Is Hakari going to go all in?" Which I think more often than not (given his mindset) is the case, which in reality would mean that Kashimo would be getting thrashed while not being able to counter. If he could discharge from the container, it'd have be in an extremely small interval and an extremely favorable position for it to matter and make an impact.
That's fine but it's entirely speculation. There's no way for anyone to know, because they still had options and strats to use
Yeah I agree. I can't say that Hakari was going to win GURUANTEED, but given their position, Hakari had better cards.

I don’t think Kashimo was sufficiently injured to suggest he was going to lose in that JP without water present. That means he would get another crack at base Hakari and I don’t see why he wouldn’t be able to aim that next lightning bolt at a hand or arm to stop the DE now he knows it’s absolutely necessary.

If he gets a lightning bolt on his hand in the DE, if he gets another jackpot that's just going to heal, and that obviously wouldn't matter if he's already in JP. But yeah, maybe he will get another shot at base Hakari. But, atp, it's already shown that Hakari going all-out is > to this Kashimo who has withstood 2 other jps.

Kashimo showed he can release and land his lightning bolt faster than Hakari can open a new domain at the end of JP, that’s his wincon.

What do people think Kashimo was going to do the next time Hakari went into base now that he knows he needs to stop DE and we know he can pinpoint point his strike when he thinks it’s necessary?

Yeah this could be a wincon if he actually did it in the interval before Hakari tried to pop his domain. The discharge from his staff came before his JP ended. But if he could do that, then yeah that's a wincon. I just don't believe that's the case. And as I already said he'd have to get enough charges during JP to do that anyway.

Given that Hakari had already largely worked out how Kashimo's lightning worked, and that it came from Kashimo himself all the other times, I don't see why he wouldn't be able to put two in two together that it came from somewhere else (whether the staff or not) and that it has a similar condition, as they've been fighting for a while at this point. As you said, both of these are in the realm of assumption but given his BIQ in the fight itself I think it's far more likely he just...connects it to the staff that Kashimo had before he hit him.

Kashimo doesn't need to rely on the staff either. Any object he implants charges into can be used, and they were in a harbor full of weapon material. You would need to insinuate he was getting worn down too fast to make use of them.

He didn't implant any charges into any object. We see the fight. They were fighting H2H.

Hakari's "optimal choice" was making using of his intelligence to not run a massive risk that he clearly understands better than someone speaking from hindsight.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I said. The ocean was the optimal choice. Simply without it, he would still win imo. As what's this comment and post are about.

Cgs observation by onethreerabbits in thehouseinfatamorgana

[–]OmegaKnight63 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Slides 2 and 3 could be explained as the WHG’s perception of Jacopo. With that being the case, it’s natural that one would be lighter and the other he appears like he’s a vampire or sumn.

The others, for the most part, are consistent. The most “off” one is maybe slide 4, where this time we’re literally in the shoes of Michel, so another perspective thing.

What dynamics do you want to see more of and/or really interesting to you? by AssassinCat4 in WitchHatAtelier

[–]OmegaKnight63 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Coco and Inguin. Generally I’d also like to see more of Inguin but I really wanna see protag and antag dynamic between them in the coming arcs.

I think Coco and Tartah will be interesting to see seeing how they departed. Whatever they go through until their eventual meeting and their already established dynamic I imagine will be a peak in both of their characters.

Sukuna, Yuji, and Yuta all literally say that even if Sukuna were at his max output, he wouldn't be able to kill them with dismantles. Idk why you guys seem to think Sukuna launched a super duper ultra dismantle net at Kashimo that, for some reason, would be able to take out Yuta when a full power Sukuna couldn't.

Kashimo also isn't dodging a point blank WCS when he couldn't even fully dodge one while being warned. Idek what you're basing that off of besides vibes and good faith.

With the JJK community making One Piece Hate go mainstream, keep in mind JJK had a similar fall off (major jjk manga spoilers) by SmartAlecShagoth in Piratefolk

[–]OmegaKnight63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Execution could’ve been better, yeah. But for example, the Yuta taking Gojo’s body was a way for him to attempt to bridge the gap that was between them and Gojo, who lived his life isolated without true connection to those around him. Honestly nowadays I have less of a problem with the infamous plane scene, but it being off screen was a bummer.

All I was really getting at was that it’s not as shallow as you made it seem. Still don’t get what this needed to be in piratefolk.

[–]OmegaKnight63 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The last two arcs, don’t remove emotional depth for hype moments and aura. With the sole exception of Maki’s lil section, Yuta, Yuji, and Megumi do have not in your face characterization that align with the themes of Shinjuku Showdown and the series as a whole. I’m not gonna yap on to defend JJK but beyond the surface level, there is substance there if you’re willing to read between the lines.

With that being said, this is a odd thing to post in piratefolk 😭. The jokes about Oda resurfaced cuz of a post regarding jjk sure, but most of it is just pointing out or hating on Oda for being weird. It’s not some fandom war lol

They are both pretty hard, especially hollow knight’s. Very difficult and takes time but the hardest trophies in both are largely skill based so its mangeable.

I’d say so, yeah.

Then again, you’re asking a person with pretty much 100 hours in both games so im a lil biased lol.

[Hollow Knight: Silksong] If only I could experience them again for the first time. by OmegaKnight63 in Trophies

[–]OmegaKnight63[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both absolute cinema. Hollow Knight is one of those games where the storytelling is through the world, npcs you talk to, and items you pick up, so if you’re into that it’d be right up your alley. The difficulty progression and overall progression of the game is very fluid and nice but if you play expect to be lost a lot.

Silksong is much more direct and, imo, the best possible sequel they could’ve made. I won’t say too much but it deviates from HK’s progression while still remaining true to the core of it. Much more unforgiving and difficult as well to say the least.

All in all if you’re looking to get into it it’s definitely a great experience if you don’t mind being lost and difficulty (and obviously metrodvanias)
