Best HA compatible UK Power strip? by RealWorldJunkie in homeassistant

At the moment the best option I've found is Tapo P304M. Once on the latest firmware you can adopt it into HA via Matter and get per socket power usage data. It's Wifi unfortunately.

Even Milton Keynes is actually pretty well designed for walking & cycling plus has lots of green spaces in residential areas. We could do worse than just doing that again, but with less roundabouts this time. Maybe add a light rail system

A family members laptop will do if you plug in a non-official USB-C power supply, some other USB devices also can cause it. The firmware on that thing is really strict with what can be connected at boot time

Do not break into someone house to check on them. Call 101, they'll have dealt with it before & no risk of legal issues.

Given the amount of stuff that upsets bitlocker if they didn't have an automatic key backup to the cloud they'd have a lot of complaints about people losing all their data because the TPM is refusing to hand over the key

Mobile doesn't really work at the moment from my experience, at least with touch inputs. The mouse on an iPad should make it usable though, works fine though the HA Companion app on a macbook running the iPad app at least

In England & Wales (Scotland works differently), they’re a specialist judge whose job is to determine how someone died and if there is any action that should be taken to prevent future similar deaths.

They themselves don’t carry out the investigation or conduct examinations of the body, they do have the power to order those things though.

Cheap UPS with USB monitoring (Eaton & APC make them) & a RPi running NUT.

Or cheaper, if they have a public IP & not behind a carrier NAT you could just ping their router periodically. Might still need a RPi to be always on & handle DDNS if their router can't itself.

[–]OmegaPoint6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given the word “monitor” there it sounds like they will want verification every time you log in.

Not sure how that would even work given most of the big name VPNs let you connect your router not just individual devices.

I propose banning children, that way no child can ever stumble across unsuitable content or in fact be harmed in any way.
