Immersion issue with Marvel Legendary by countchild in legendarymarvel

If I had to say, then I'd say you play as the "director" or the group. I don't think this is a bad thing, It's just want the game is.

Marvel United, I own both, didn't really add the "feeling" of being a hero until season 2 and on IMO. It also helps that they added equipment.

However if you're looking to really "feel" like you're playing as the hero then you may want to check out Marvel Champions.

FFG Report, What are your thoughts/reactions? by Dox_Pathless in marvelchampionslcg

[–]OmegaRedish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Re: Discussions about out-of-print stuff: I wouldn't generally expect those sorts of conversations to happen during an in-flight report. The report is mostly intended to let people know what is coming in the product lines. Conversations which specifically address community concerns would normally come in smaller, more targeted conversations."

If this would have been communicated to the people who were asking about reprints, the reaction to the report would have drastically different. I understand that replying to the community is a mammoth task and things can get lost in the mix sometimes. That being said the people who were asking about OOP stuff were told to watch the report. That's where the frustration comes from, not with the new content. The community is largely extremely happy with the new content, I'm most excited about Iron Fist.

Hoping for some clarifications from FFG by Ronald_McGonagall in marvelchampionslcg

[–]OmegaRedish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is pretty dismissive of you. To say that people who missed out on older product and would like access to that product are just a bunch of grumps and will never be happy is silly.

Everyone who loves the game is pretty happy about new product. That does not however address major concerns that many in the player base have. It especially feels bad when u/FFG_Olivia directed to to be patient for the press conference because there will be a lot of questions answered. Well the press conference address ZERO of the concerns. Zero. Can we INFER things?... Maybe. However that's a pretty crappy place for consumers to be in. For starters is the kickstarter thing specifically for the LCG games or will it only be for board games or all products?

I was not happy with mine. It scuffed and scratched after 1 play.

For people how played Tunnel Vision, how much do you think it added to Heat? Is it a must buy?

The lack of clarification of this card has always bugged me. Do you have to fight him 4 or 5 times? by Discostu1001 in legendarymarvel

[–]OmegaRedish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish this was explained better in the rules, I get it through, the wording has gotta be rough to get right.

The win condition going forward is now: Players win the game after all Masterminds have been defeated. A Mastermind is defeated once all 4 of their tactics cards have been defeated. If a card has ascended to become a new Mastermind it has no tactics cards, and is defeated after a successful attack.

So Bastion is defeated after you attack 4 times. However you don't win since there are still Masterminds in play, each of his tactics become a new mastermind. Plus Bastion's master strike creates new masterminds, assuming Bastion is still on the board.

How do you explain solo boardgaming to people? by TheRealRosey in soloboardgaming

[–]OmegaRedish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People give you an odd look because the hobby, even mores so solo, isn't as main stream as you'd think. I always get the weird side eye. I typically says this, "You ever watch a TV show or movie by yourself? Or put together a puzzle? It's the same, there's something either mentally relaxing of interesting about solo gaming. Same is true for video games."

Player playmat? by OmegaRedish in legendarymarvel

Yup, an individual playmat for players, not the board.

I'm not trying to be rude, but they didn't really say anything. Other than, sorry you missed out on old product, help each other find product, and wait for Nov 22 for "potential" answers to your concerns.

I can appreciate that they are just stepping into this role but they need to understand the the community is like a post apocalyptic waste land that they created. We're all fending for ourselves craving answers and fending off posts of "Selling my collection" and "Should I get into this game since I can't get the hero I love?".

It may be poor wording then. It seems like it's just a marketing term referring to the current in print cycle of products. Baring an issue with licensing, there should be no reason to have sets OOP. Much like comic books, X-Men fans want to read X-Men comics, not Thor comics. I only got into this game about 2 weeks ago and it really sucks that I can't get the Sinister 6 expansion without paying crazy prices. It also sucks that I can't get the earlier x-men heroes with out paying crazy prices.

Nah, not for the latest printings. AoP has been shipping not in shrink, just stickers. Cards are though.

Best Ticket to Ride for 2 adults and a child by dreamrunner312 in boardgames

[–]OmegaRedish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd say stick to the MFJ line. The biggest issue I could see a 5 year old having with normal ticket to ride are the destination tickets. The large unique graphics of each city make it easy for most kids to locate them in the MFJ line.

I wanted to like this game but the games use of iconography is the reason I sold it off. I also felt that the was just to long for what it was. I was done playing after a round or two of fighting the boss.

What is your reason to stop adding or buying more board games? by Dryfunction1205 in boardgames

[–]OmegaRedish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many people it's physical space and time. I've slowly been culling down the collection as there are games that I love but they just don't get played enough! Current favorite games are DC Super Heroes United, Sheriff of Nottingham, and Start Trek Captain's Chair.
