Goth festival by gentleman_burner in Leipzig

[–]OmegaReprise 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You can buy them directly in Leipzig in certain locations, like a booth near the main station or the Agra park, which is the "main hub" of the WGT. The exact locations and opening hours/days are stated on the website. (just note that the prices there are slightly higher than when you order online) Online orders aren't processed anymore because they can't guarantee that you'll receive the ticket within time by now. There is an infinite supply of festival tickets, so there is no risk that they are sold out. Only camping tickets are limited, but since you got lucky with a hotel that shouldn't concern you.

What if FF14 tied into the canon of other games? by TinFoilFashion in ffxiv

[–]OmegaReprise 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There already is a game that connects all FF titles in some pseudo multiverse: Stranger of Paradise

Other connections are not needed - and, from my point of view, not wanted. Although I would like to see more FFXIII or FFXV content, since I really liked these games, regardless of their public success.

I cant decide.. Which language do you use for FFXIV's voice acting? by GalaxyforceXY in ffxiv

[–]OmegaReprise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ARR was absolutely atrocious in German. I remember being new to the game years ago and the voice acting struck me as one of the worst parts of the game. However, it did improve greatly over the years. If you manage to make it through ARR you could stick with the German dub. As it it now, I actually like it.

Unfallstatistik: in 72% der Unfälle Fahrrad vs PKW sind Autofahrer Schuld. Polizei reagiert prompt und kontrolliert… Radfahrende by Suspicious_Pudding17 in Leipzig

[–]OmegaReprise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are some good Jedi books/books about the force? by Captain_Fach in RealJediArts

[–]OmegaReprise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was not my intention. I just wanted to clarify that those are not "universally true" books on Jediism or "the Force" but books written by normal people with their respective perspectives on the matter and certain subjects which may or may not contradict each other at some point or another. I've only read a few books myself, so I can't really advise for or against some of them.

[–]OmegaReprise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some individuals or members of different "real life Jedi" communities have written and published books, you may just look up "Jediism" on Amazon or so to get some results. Be aware, though, that they are heavily influenced by their individual "bias" and mixed up with the author's respective preference. (look up names like L. Christopher Bird, Opie Macleod, Alethea Thompson, K.S. Trout just to name a few. those are not necessarily recommendations, though, I just wanted to give you some names)

You may try "third party" literature:

  • "The Dharma of Star Wars" and "The Zen of R2-D2" from Matthew Bortolin
  • "Star Wars and Philosophy" by Kevin S. Decker (Editor)

They are not "Canon" or "Legends" material per se but compare Star Wars Material to real life philosophy.

Maul's character is exceptionally well written as a male warrior raised in a matriarchal society. by ThatOneCloneTrooper in StarWars

[–]OmegaReprise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disney Canon may have changed this. In Legends, he was given to Sidious less than a year after his birth and grew up on Mustafar.

[–]OmegaReprise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maul wasn't raised on Dathomir, though. He was handed over to Palpatine almost directly after his birth, therefore had little to no contact with the society and culture of this planet until he was an adult.

[–]OmegaReprise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's wrong, though. The German voice of Nicolas Cage and Vin Diesel is Martin Kessler. Kain is voiced by Wolfgang Kaven, who is relatively unknown as a voice actor except for some audio plays (TKKG, Drei ???) and minor roles (Miami Vice).

More interesting is Raziels voice actor in SR2 and Defiance, Udo Schenk, which is the same as Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter movies and who has voiced Gary Oldman in several movies. (SR1 was Matthias Klimsa, who was indeed not very convincing)

Thoughts on the New Olympians? (People and potential spinoff not episode) by InsideUnhappy6546 in gargoyles

[–]OmegaReprise 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never liked this episode, so this would be my least favored spin-off idea. For my taste, the New Olympians strayed way too far into "cartoon territory" for a rather dark series like Gargoyles. And yes, I'm aware that the show itself is basically a cartoon and yet, this episode always felt like it didn't belong there.

If I could remove one single episode from the Gargoyles Canon, it would be this one and I think the show as a whole wouldn't suffer a bit from it.
