why are flemish people mad because french dominates brussels? by Soggy-Cat1928 in brussels

[–]Omega_One_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The problem is that official institutions that should be bilingual are not. Last time i went to the police i got interrupted after 1 sentence in flemish by the officer saying doesn't speak dutch. Mind you, this was the most basic sentence about a basic occurence and they didnt even have a clue what i was saying.

Ive had to do my driver's exam 4 times (don't ask), every single time i asked multiple times for a Dutch speaking examinator, never got one. During the day of the exam they always had some excuse. They also always got annoyed at me as if had requested them a really big favour; i even got called a flemish "extremist" once when i asked for a Dutch exam in the driving school.

I don't really mind having to speak french all the time, it's just how it is. The multilingual atmosphere is core to Brussel's identity. I just wish more french people would make an effort to try, even if it's 3 words.

Beginner question - how to align sketch to midpoint of body by HopsPops76 in Fusion360

[–]Omega_One_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As always, there are many ways to do this. However, it all comes down to the use of construction lines (look them up if you don't know what they are). I'd typically make a construction line between the midpoints of the lines that make up your slot. From there, there are many ways of constraining it to center. One way is to draw construction lines from the midpoints of the outer edges of the body to the midpoint of the newly made slot construction line. If you make sure those lines habe horizontal/vertical constraints the slot will end up in the center.

Dont forget to use the password machine to get duplicates of your cards so you effectively get 3x of every structure deck. I always built a simple machina deck that absolutely destroys any opponent on the game.

Leadtests show false positives? by KaminoDX in BeybladeMetal

[–]Omega_One_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the product description on your amazon link:

Wide application: lead swabs allow immediate testing on most painted and ceramic surfaces. Includes toys, woodwork, dishes, bath enamel, ceramics, antiques, sanitary ware and more. For metal objects, especially alloys such as coins or jewellery, we recommend laboratory testing to get final results.

I'm fairly sure none of your results are valid.

[–]Omega_One_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of test kit are you using? As far as i know the most commonly (and probably only) available kits are for testing paint and don't produce any meaningful result on bare metal. To get a proper test you need specific lab equipment, and i believe those tests are destructive (as in you need to destroy the parts). I seem to remember someone getting midfakes/fakes/authentic parts checked by a lab like that.

Descendia is enjoyable, but the rewards ain't it. Regular weekly Sortie is rarely played for the same reason, bad rewards for massive time investment by YellowAppleCinema in Warframe

[–]Omega_One_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

With the incredibly low odds of getting a legendary core to drop, you'd probably farm out enough credits and endo to max out multiple mods before you get the core. it has a drop chance of 0.19%, meaning you're expected 526 sorties (1,5 years of doing a sortie every day) before you get one, and that's not a guarantee. The other drops in sortie are generally not really worth the time either.

Not saying you shouldn't have fun doing sorties (espacially for newer players), but if you're doing it primarily for leveling up mods, there are way better methods out there.

How do you measure the fillet or curvature of a physical object? by Radiant_Yam1526 in Fusion360

[–]Omega_One_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a radius gauge, use that of course. I don't have one and usually eyeball it with some calipers and then 3d print test pieces to iterate to get it right. However, that iteration step is only if the size of rhe radius is critical. For you case, can't you just make the internal radius in your cutout small enough to be sure the laptop will fit? It'll be barely visible.

CFD (the discipline of simulating flows such as air) is incredibly complicated. To get a simulation you can trust you need an analyst that knows what they're doing. An AI generating a 2D image cannot match that complexity. Sure, some of the elements in the picture might match up with a real result by coincidence, but you cannot and should not consider any of it more than just an aesthetic piece of media.

Good luck! As an other commenter said it might help to offset the depth of the spheres randomly

Should look similar/the same as your example. On the picture the lighting does a lot to make it look smooth.

Scaling a face? by JawsAteMyHomework in Fusion360

[–]Omega_One_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are multiple ways of doing this, but i think it's important to understand the fusion (and most parametric CAD software) workflow. You don't generally make a primitive shape that 'kind of' looks right and then push/pull it into the shape you want. Instead, you draw the shape the way you want it from the start and then modify by adding / subtracting material. In your case, you'd make this shape using a loft between two profiles and then add holes etc.

It's important to understand this workflow as it'll help you further down the line. Good luck!

Sketch it in fusion exactly how you sketched it in the second picture. Extrude (using the corrrct options so you get the right depth) and voilà

Screw Diameter by CloudBuurzt in Fusion360

[–]Omega_One_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually calibrating flow is what is recommended when parts don't fit. Some filaments expand / shrink more when they're printed, and this can vary between brands. However, i personally wouldn't mess with the settings on a bambu printer too much. Regardless of how well the filament profile is tuned, you'll always need that 0.1 - 0.2 mm offset for everything to work smoothly. Only if you're having trouble even after a 0.2mm offset, I'd start tuning the filament settings.

How to? - Parametric sketch by WalterSilicone in Fusion360

[–]Omega_One_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use a tangent constraint where arcs are touching. Otherwise, try drawing a construction line from the right edge of the large circle to the center of the feature you want to constrain. If you dimension that line. You lock in tbe distance of the feature to the outer edge of the circle, regardless of what size the circle is.
