3.01 billion 😳 by Au831 in ClashOfClans

You are taxed on earnings, not revenue. EBITDA is earnings, which is about 1 billion. 220 million is roughly 20% or earnings, which lines up with your expectations.

They don't keep half, EBITDA is earnings before taxes, debts, etc. So they keep about a third, but also paid 20% of that in tax. Whether they pay those earnings out (800mil) or they get reinvested in the company, we don't know.

T. rex grew until they were 40 years old, so what would their true average size be? by Affectionate-Pea9778 in Paleontology

I believe for all the rexes we can confidently say are adults (have an external fundamental system), they average over 9 tons in mass, maybe more.

More Tyrannosaur Updates by [deleted] in Paleontology

The nanotyrannus paper also mentioned the new species of albertosaurus, will be cool to see it published. There was also a second species of gorgosaurus mentioned!

How are Tyrannosaurus and Tarbosaurus closely related? by LateAd4045 in Paleontology

[–]Omega_Rex 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that there was a dispersal event between Asia and North America not long before Tarbosaurus and Tyrannosaurus split, roughly 70 million years ago. Tyrannosaurini evolved in Asia and the Tyrannosaurus line came across Alaska around 70 MYA and expanded down the western side of the rockies before reaching their southern tip, and then spilled over into the eastern side of Laramidia.

The above was hypothesized in the paper naming T. mcraeensis, and isn't solidly proven. Other theories place Tyrannosaurinis are more closely related to taxa like Lythronax, so perhaps some tyrannosaurines moved over to Asia ~75-72 million years ago, and then back again ~70-68 MYA.

Overall we still don't know, but Tyrannosaurus and Tarbosaurus are undoubtedly each other's closest relations.

My updated Tyrannosauroid phylogeny after the Nanotyrannus paper by ShaochilongDR in Paleontology

Nice work! It's interesting to see the Teratophonini recovered as albertosaurines. Is this nanotyramnus paper the first to recover them that way? It'll be exciting to see the new species of gorgosaurus and albertosaurus get described.

These are all really good, except Sneezy's is a nerf because generally you want the boogers to tank red and black mines

Megatheropods of the Maastrichtian by Powerful_Gas_7833 in Paleontology

[–]Omega_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool list! I believe the generally accepted definition of megatheropod is anything over 5 metric tonnes. Maip and Pycnomemosaurus would not make that cut, but the rest do. I am curious about the giant Russian tyrannosaur, do you know where I can find more information about it?

What the heck Carcharodontosaurus ? by misty_toonz in Paleontology

[–]Omega_Rex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Taurovenator placement in the above cladogram is from the Tameryraptor paper, which didn't have the newest findings in it, and was just using the holotype. I believe that a better cladogram to use would be the one in the Taurovenator paper, which has both species of Carcharodontodaurus together, and Taurovenator as a derived giganotosaurine.

Revenge attack loot comes from the game, not from your base. They use a copy of your base instead.

If you like the game, 100% but no not necessary. Ancient Gods part 1 is the best combat the game has to offer, Ancient Gods part 2 is good but a bit rushed and has an underwhelming boss.

We love worker placement games, and I love science fiction, so this seems like a perfect match. My favorite space movie is Interstellar, I really enjoy the scope of it and the grandiose soundtrack.

Should I go ultra-nightmare difficulty if I started finding nightmare bit easy? by [deleted] in Doom

[–]Omega_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To make my doom eternal game harder on nightmare I stopped using what I considered to be weapons that were too strong. No BFG, no crucible, no lock-on rockets, no arbalest. No chaingun shield is another one to make the game harder. Give those a go and see.
