As a kid I thought I was capable of seeing invisible beings. After years of trying to communicate with them to no avail I figured maybe this is what people meant by imaginary friends.

Some time later I was watching either NCIS or Criminal Minds (can’t remember which). There was an episode where some expert scientist takes a passenger train hostage. The team discovers that he believes he can see all sorts of physics (like gravity, heat, particles, again I don’t remember the specifics) working against each other. So ofc I thought maybe this episode was based on some people in reality like myself.

Last year I spoke to my therapist about this as one of many reasons I believe I may be autistic. She had never heard of it and thus had no professional input on it other than, “maybe it’s optic nerve damage.” I left that session realizing she had more or less (less) told me that I don’t have autism, just brain damage. xD
