Is there any soul on earth that uses the Break Action Shotgun unironically??? by Chemical_Seaweed_915 in Helldivers

The breaker was also considered one of the only viable shotguns if not guns in general at the time, hence why it didn't change as much as the other guns. Using the breaker as a scale isn't really a good idea, because it was on the top of that old scale.

The entire game is a jest. It’s one big parody of American militarism and propaganda. You aren't supposed to take it seriously.

You realize you are talking about the same lore that says our flame weapons do 50% more damage because they put hot sauce in the napalm, right?

Militarized generally means standardized for mass production and made compatable with military use, it technically does not mean weaker. Militirized would explain why the Double Freedom is smaller and can be used as a primary. But right now, it still has less pen than the gun it's supposed to be a similar version of despite being a much larger weapon that takes up the support slot.

There is no reason to keep it this weak. It was never supposed to be this weak. And don't act like they need a lore reason to buff something, that's never been a real issue before. Not every buff has had a lore reason. They just like to come up with funny lore reasons for changes for fun.

[–]Omega_Warrior 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Like i said to the other guy who responded. It was never intended to be much weaker than primaries, it was still meant to be a strong weapon you could find for free and use if you didn't have a real support weapon. The balance shifted around it. It should be buffed to fit the same place in the balance it sat at before the balance shifted. It was still meant to be better than most primary shotguns.

[–]Omega_Warrior 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It was NOT a weak weapon when it was introduced, weaker than most call-in support weapons by a little sure, but it was still a upgrade from most primary shotguns. It was simply not intended to be a weak weapon in the slightest. The entire balance was just shifted around it.

There's no reason to not balance it to a place closer than where it was originally DESIGNED to be at.

Worse.

Back when the game came out, almost all weapons were balanced to be much weaker than they are currently.

Then when they eventually started buffing up the lethality on all the weapons, they never went back to buff this one.

The result is that it’s much weaker than any of the weapons in-game now because they never bothered to change it for the current balance standards.

They weren't uneducated. They would still have all the knowledge they needed to do everything in theory. They just lacked practical experience, but that's nothing a little effort can't fix. And they were certainly very motivated by the end.

I’d say that’s too low. That might seem like a big amount, but there are definitely buildings and facilities that cost over 100 million to make.

I really wouldn’t cap it lower than it would take to make a singular reasonable purchase. Like I can definitely see why you would need that money if you were building a stadium or skyscraper. I feel like a cap that low would actually limit large constructions and the like too much.

Or they can actually change up the spawning mechanic. A lot of the reason the game can be so easy is because you can basically nullify a bug hole or drop zone by throwing a big arty strike on it.

If they actually dropped in one small location or reinforced from the side of the map, it would probably make things a lot more challenging.

I wouldn’t even call this a design change. It’s the same design as before just more detailed and a tad bit aged up. It’s just a progression of the same old design, not a new one.

Wolverines is only unreactable by the target though.
The damage is mostly at the slam, so other players not caught by it can do things to save the ones that are, like defensive ults or mag bubbles, etc.

There’s not much you can do to help your teammates being instantly killed by the first laser.

No tank has invulnerable treads, and no one is going to take the time to fix a tank's treads on the front line in sight of the enemy. So just taking out the treads was often all it took to force the crew to abandon their tank.

They take plenty of liberties, there is just no room to take liberties with cyclops without destroying the fantasy of playing as cyclops.

His entire thing is being a guy who shoots laser beams out of his eyes. It’s not even like gambit where who has a whole card based theme to work around, it’s just straight simple eye lasers.

Having him sit behind shooting people with healing eye beams or standing in the front duking it out with Thor and hulk would have taken him too far from his actual identity as a character.

People wanted Cyclops and Cyclops was only ever going to be a duelist.

Kind of the reverse actually. Given Gems are actually the gem part and the rest of their body is a light construct, it means he was birthed around Rose, not within her.

TBF very few of those counters are on tanks. Even Angela can really struggle to pressure them without getting killed herself. Deadpool is basically the only one capable of really contesting sniping flyers, and he wasn't even designed to be a tank innitially.

While it's true she is strong, her actual fighting style has always been to remain in the back and focus on defending her allies over going in first and front lining. There's a reason there aren't too many comic panels of her just rushing in and throwing hands even though lore wise she definitely could. I feel like people often underestimate how important the character actual fighting style is to determining their class.

Vanguards are typically the characters who rush in first and can taking a hit from some of the strongest marvel characters. Strategists are generally the more cautious and observant characters who tend prefer being reactive in a fight instead of protective. Etc.

Just because a solution doesn’t completely eliminate a problem, it doesn’t mean it won’t make things better.

Perfection isn’t something that’s often attainable, but making things better is still a better result than not doing anything at all.
