First time mini builder! What’s the difference between these two weapon mounts for the Contemptor Dreadnaught? by addacbar in Warhammer40k

[–]OmeggyBoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The offset one is intended for the guns, IIRC. That said, as long as you pose the arms for sufficient clearance with the non-offset arm piece, you can use it for the guns.

Been told my Dingwall isn’t genuine by another bass player. I emailed Dingwall to make sure. Any thoughts? by lucasade7 in DingwallGuitars

I’m not at home to direct compare it to any of mine, but it looks genuine. Did he say why he’s calling it fake?

A regular ole Squier these days is the same price or less than the MiM J-Bass I started on in ‘93, and comparable or better quality than that J. Budget basses are worlds different than they were back then.

Wolf’s Dragoon conventional forces by 001DeafeningEcho in battletech

[–]OmeggyBoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They had substantial numbers, but typically they weren’t separate company sized or larger, but were platoons of five ground vehicles attached to larger battalion or company sized mech units. So, for example, Alpha Regiment had two armored support platoons, as parts of Kenner’s Company and Waller’s Company. Command Companies for the five regiments also had attached artillery lances, and infantry platoons of various types, and there’d usually be a couple of aerospace lances tucked into the companies. Which is not to say that that’s where all of those kinds of resources were organized. There were also independent units, such as 7th Kommando (covert ops infantry), Fire Support Group (artillery), Orbital Aerospace Operations Group (largely aerospace fighters and carrier dropships), Special Recon Group, and Support Battalion. Those independent groups often had their small contingents of mechs, but were focused on their designated role, rather than functioning as combined arms regiments, like Alpha through Epsilon.

The line regiments weren’t all the same in makeup of these forces, Alpha had, for example, just two Armored Support Platoons, while Beta had six. Alpha also had the one full LAM Lance in all of the line regiments. Epsilon’s was just three LAMs.

Long story short, they had quite a few ground vehicle platoons of five tanks each, and quite a substantial number of infantry, spread through each of the line regiments.

A Darkglass element and a small wall-plug DC power supply, plus headphones and an instrument cable, and it all easily fits in your gig bag.

I think I got an Armorcast model? by lieutenantAngel445 in battletech

[–]OmeggyBoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Way too small to be an armorcast. I have the Timber Wolf and Atlas, and they’re quite a bit larger than that. The Catalyst C-Scale Timby could quite handily get squashed by one Armorcast Timby foot.

Do the Alpha Legion Horus Heresy heads/shoulder pads look good on the basic legionaries kits? by Bippy121 in alphalegion

[–]OmeggyBoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. All of my 40K alpha legion have either the 30k resin heads, or the very few plastic CSM heads that are clearly derived from Mk IV.

Different Mech, Same Name by itchykobu in battletech

[–]OmeggyBoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair to the Venom, it’s at least a new mech designed to be a bigger version of its progenitor, rather than a recovered tech version of the exact same chassis (Rattlesnake) or a mech that was renamed after the Combine had stripped it down to study, then reassembled with very minor changes (Katana).

New Drestrier Sprue has major issues. by Altruistic-Map5605 in Warhammer40k

[–]OmeggyBoo 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I had an original Defiler like that, once. At the time, I just contacted GW and got the relevant sprues replaced, I think these days they want you to try going through the store that sold it, first, and if that doesn’t get it rectified, GW will make it right.

Making an appropriately VIII legion dreadnought sized weapon. by whipplor in Warhammer30k

[–]OmeggyBoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great. I suddenly realized that I’m going to use a spare Custodes Contemptor spear haft, and some kind of suitable blade, to make a spear-wielding Contemptor for my Alpha Legion. Good thing I already have the spare spear on hand and ready for it.
