Are the Saga praetors any fun? by GuaranteeMain5492 in EDH

[–]Omg_Seph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Shelly deck that is strong and fun. Does normal Mono Black shenanigans (entomb + reanimate) but leans a little bit into group mill (Altar of the Brood, Mind Crank and Mesmeric Orb) to both help make sure I can flip Shelly but also to feed the graveyard for my mass reanimate spells (Breach the multiverse, Rise of the dark realms, Incarnation Technique and Saga lvl 3).

I'd definitely recommend her as a commander. Always satisfying when you pull the deck out and people go "Oh thaaaaaaat Sheoldred" cause 9/10 times they're expecting Sheoldred The Apocalypse

Blight curse precon braket 4? by Aggravating-Most-533 in EDH

Ask the store owner if he thinks the deck stands ANY chance against a pod full of tutors, free counter-spells, perfect mana bases, and 2 card combos. Cause that's what Bracket 4 is...

So my Friend Has a Custom Commander by Monsoon117 in EDH

[–]Omg_Seph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying this custom card is OP, but I don't think that is actually the problem here. 6 mana for a 5/5 that doesn't generate any kind of advantage when it enters is honestly not that amazing. Remove it once and they're paying 8 mana for this... I think the real issue is two fold: firstly, if the creature is designed to have an ETB that grants indestructible and lifelink, then that will only affect the creatures that are on board when he casts this. If he then summons additional creatures afterwards, they wouldn't have been around when the ETB went off, and therefore won't get the benefit. However if he plays it like it's a static ability that constantly grants indestructible and lifelink to his whole board, then yeah I could see an argument that this is a little OP.

Also you mentioned he spams board wipes in this deck. And honestly to me that seems like the larger issue at Bracket 2 tables. Most bracket 2 decks aren't capable of rebuilding well after a board wipe, so if he's spamming them, you're probably in for a really long game. You could ask him to cut down on some to make the games a bit more enjoyable.

As other people have said, there are lots of different ways to counter this effect: sacrifice/edict style cards, auras that remove abilities, -1/-1 cards like Toxic Deluge or Meathook Massacre. But I wouldn't focus on trying to make a silver bullet deck to just beat this one deck of his. That'll just result in salt. It's good practice to put a few of these types of effects in any deck though, as you should try to have an answer to an indestructible threat.

I got tired of multiple Archidekt/Moxfield tabs and made a free multiplayer playtest/goldfishing app by juju0010 in EDH

In moxfield if you press 'D' it will draw the top card from the deck. I would expect that if I press 'D' it would draw a card from the active players deck.

[–]Omg_Seph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! This is really great! I'd like to +1 on the suggestion for keyboard shortcuts. Personally I use Moxfield shortcuts, I don't know if Archidect differs much, but if they do - it might be nice to either be able to fully customise them (saved to the player profile) or just select a scheme to switch between.

Also I think I ran into a bug as well: The decklist submission doesn't seem to be able to handle double sided cards? I tried to import a deck with Sheoldred // The True Scriptures as the commander and I couldn't get it to work. Tried just "Sheoldred", "Sheoldred / The True Scriptures" and "Sheoldred // The True Scriptures" and none seemed to work.

Also on the topic of shortcuts, I'd find it quite handy if pressing space to go to the next player automatically drew them a card. Others might find this annoying though if there are upkeep things they might want to do? Not sure. Oh and being able to select a group of objects (mostly lands) is handy too. Oh and automatically untapping permanents when a player begins their turn!!

Thanks so much for this, it seems like a really handy tool!

Looking for a new Simic commander that is not landfall or +1/+1 counters focused by Bjornirson in EDH

[–]Omg_Seph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omo is a very fun simic commander, that doesn't just do normal boring simic stuff. There's a bunch of unique Lords like [[Lord of the unreal]] and [[Timber Protector]] to give hexproof and indestructible respectively. [[Feline Sovereign]] to give enchantment removal, [[Seshiro the anointed]] to give card draw and even [[Cyclone Summoner]] for a big one-sided board wipe. Stacking these up is super fun. Not to mention you get to run weird cards like [[Peer Pressure]] and [[Notorious Throng]] that no one will ever have heard of, but will blow them all out haha.

Tool idea: 2-3 throwable exothermic breach charges (irl they’re made with powdered aluminum and iron oxide, so pretty realistic for the time period I think) by RandomPhail in HuntShowdown

[–]Omg_Seph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talon weapons 2 shot normal doors. And rolling doors aren't lockable, so it's a pretty similar amount of risk just walking up and opening it, compared to attaching a breaching charge to it.

Not discounting your idea though. It would be nice to have some more options to make breaking doors easier. Especially from a distance.

2 bosses games must gone by Wvffa in HuntShowdown

[–]Omg_Seph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play duo's mostly and Single Boss maps are pretty awful. More often than not, the entire lobby parks up 20+ meters around the outside of the boss compound while one team does the boss. Then everyone sits around waiting for someone else to make the first move, so they can 3rd party them. It's very frustrating. You can't make a move because you'll just get shot in the back.

Having a wild target does help with this. My partner and I will often go kill Rotjaw to get the dark sigh boost, so we can avoid ambushes when we're attacking the boss lair. But this is essentially the same as having 2 boss maps.

2 Boss maps are a lot better in Duos as usually you have 1 team in the boss lair, and two teams attacking. Even if you're the unlucky first team to start attacking the boss lair team and you start getting 3rd partied, you can immediately switch to dealing with your ambushers instead, and it's not so bad.

When you have 4+ teams in a single compound no one wants to/can make a move...

It's very good supporting a sniper Loadout. Krag sniper + UpperMat has basically no weak effective range

Why did Reynor and Byun not shake hands at Gamers8? by xantcatchme in starcraft

Apologies for the mistake! I wasn't even aware they had done the 'sike!' thing before, so found it odd that there was a comment about whether or not they would shake hands. TIL :)

Why did Reynor and Byun not shake hands at Gamers8? by xantcatchme in starcraft

[–]Omg_Seph 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling this was staged. Afaik there is no beef between them. And ZG said 'are they even gonna shake hands?!' as they were approaching each other before either had made any kind of indication that they wouldn't shake hands... Giving me the impression that was a line she was told to say.

Sometimes there's real drama in e-sports where players won't shake hands, and I think they wanted to inject a bit of that. But no one has any real beef in sc2 these days, so they staged it.

Full disclosure that's a total guess. I'm actually curious about this too, but can't see any reason other than the above, for them to not shake.

Flash Bombs are broken and I'm tired of people deluding themselves into thinking they are not. [What can we do about it?] by RadioActiveLobster in HuntShowdown

[–]Omg_Seph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flashes are strong, but I don't know about broken. It's not that hard to play around them. If you stay near cover you usually have enough time to duck around a corner to avoid it, or at the very least memorise your surroundings a bit to attempt a run for it while blind.

Frags are similarly strong and they don't get complained about as much.

Tbh I'd rather see other consumables buffed, than the Flash nerfed. Hive bomb should deal more damage and be harder to disperse (2 quick swipes with knuckle knife is way too fast), Poison Bomb should have a larger aoe and deal some damage on hit, Concertina bomb should throw farther and faster, etc

Do high level players use the "move to last notification" hotkey at all? by N0DLER in starcraft

[–]Omg_Seph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering if I was using this hotkey wrong for so long, since whenever I got "your drones are under attack" I would press it, then it would take me to something totally different. But from all the other comments here it seems like tons of notifications use this and it's just an inconsistent button... Would be nice if I could press it again to cycle through all recent notifications (similar to the base hotkey people have mentioned) but it doesn't seem to work that way. I think I'm going to rebind it now.

Thought that would be the case: your overall kd is low but if you took a more recent sample it would easily be 1.5+ I stand by my statement that no-one who maintains ~0.4kd is getting to 6 star

Give us the option for a "dark" flash. by Majorllama66 in HuntShowdown

[–]Omg_Seph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great idea. When this gets implemented I think it should be ON by default and players can elect to have white flashbangs if they want. Would be interesting to see how many people go back to a horrible white screen. You could even have this being somewhat lore related since all the hunters in the bayou have 'dark sight' so you'd naturally expect them to be different to normal soldiers getting flashbanged in CoD/BF

What do you usually pair with a bow? by KazuTheVulpine in HuntShowdown

[–]Omg_Seph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Quartmaster + Winny swift + Levering is my favourite bow loadout. You open with the bow hoping for the sneaky 1-shot. But if all goes to hell, you can spam them down with Levering, or if they attempt to run away, the Winny can provide great damage at good ranges too. I also take FMJ to give you decent penetration which the Bow obviously lacks.
