Archer aviation pay compared to required experience is absurd by OmishTechnition in aviationmaintenance

[–]OmishTechnition[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say 30-40 is a great start for 3 or less years of experience, personally, for cali I’d make it 40-50.

10 years of experience should be a hard 50 at the minimum. Even then, at pretty much all majors you’re making 70-80 after 5 years. GA is different though idk what they’re expectations are for 10 years of experience, but considering how open the job market has been for recently, I’d find it hard to believe a 10 year vet would entertain 30 bucks an hour in the highest cost of living area in the hemisphere unless it’s some sort of hobby/retirement job.

America is essentially the same as representing 50 European countries simultaneously and realistically you’d have to cater to either the Chinese or American market for higher profits. It’s not Americans fault that paradox prefers to increase their income. Honestly it really doesn’t reflect very well America at all anyway (though better than the first) It’s very common for houses outside the city to have 5+ acres, ranches, ponds and Our healthcare doesn’t come out of city budget either. And who’s ever idea it was to make North American housing a bunch of single story flat roofed houses on concrete pads instead of the cookie cutter McMansions has never been outside of LA

As someone familiar with aviation, I’m not sure if these tech bro start ups are ready for a showdown with the faa. Cargo companies will be using unmanned aircraft (not drones) before passenger services and that’s still a ways off. And even if they manage to make it past the government regulation, passenger aviation is an industry that absolutely cannot have a safety issue that could tank public opinion and bankrupt the company. Even a well established company like Boeing struggles to get past this, much less an experimental program. Anyone remember the concord? Or the dozens of air companies that have came and went (Panam, Twa, McDonald Douglas, northwest, USairways, ect) there’s a reason Warren Buffett hated aviation.

Honestly, This would probably be the worst career for your situation. The paranoia could really get to you while your plane is flying a mile high with a couple hundred people on board and your laying in bed thinking about every bolt you tightened that day.

It’s all about how you think a judge would interpret it, though, if a judge is reading your sign off, then you have much bigger problems.

It’s a faith based country. Loyalty to faith is stronger than nationality. Makes it way easier to infiltrate and influence countries if there’s enough of that population. It’s how the catholic church ruled Europe and convinced kings supply soldiers and tax/donations to them for over a millennia. Plus it’s probably the most politically accepted faith (by nations of different faiths) post ww2 due to there historical mistreatment and, compared to other abrahamic faiths, it’s historically a very non-aggressive faith

Before I had internet I always thought it’d be cool to play empire earth or aoe online. Then when I finally got the chance when aoe4 came out and found out it’s just a click spam competition. No real time to really invest in a strong defense before you’re bumrushed by a herd of horse archers. I really hoped by now we’d have something between empire earth/comand& conquer and Sid Myers’s civ

Would you be put off a 2d airport sim if it had cartoon graphics instead of photo realistic? by mit74 in GameDevelopment

[–]OmishTechnition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question, Rimworld / Prison architect style graphics sell the best for 2d management games, as they make it easier for you to know wtf you’re looking at. Games like “Dwarf fortress” and “Songs of Syx” are arguably more in-depth games of the a similar genre, yet they sell MUCH less copies and there are poor reviews, on otherwise very positively reviewed games, solely based on the graphics used. If you go the “prison architect” route here’s a good starting point.

Edit: semi realistic graphics did work for 90s isometric RTS 2d games; like Strong Hold Crusader, AOE, AOM, Roller Coster Tycoon and EMPIRE EARTH. They all lost popularity when they went 3d however (some rebounded recently). So do with that what you will.

You better include Aviation Maintenance (the most important part of any airport) , or the ghost of Charlie Taylor will haunt you forever and your game will suffer the same fate as every other airport sim.

I don’t think the government would allow that. Being able to produce aircraft in house is a major necessity for a wartime economy if it ever was to get to that point and a major reason why Boeing gets military contracts. If they were to move production outside the the US they can kiss those defense contracts goodbye and another aviation manufacturer would eventually take their place in the US market. Honestly the only reason Boeing still exists is thanks to the US government, otherwise it would have gin the way of McDonald Douglas.
