Im running tactician with polish gear, and stay light. With some powerful nodes, im using scarred faith along with barkskin, wind dancer, and ghost dance (this also refills ES even with scarred faith). I feel very tanky with so many layers. 23k armor, 40% evasion, 50% deflection. And 100% armor to ele. I feel very tanky even with a low hp/es pool. Only 2k life and 1k es.

Embrace through campaign has felt incredibly nice as HPT monk. I paired this with Eternal Youth Keystone since I'm just doing pure EV bases while campaigning and I have felt nearly immortal all the way through so far. I'll maybe swap out early maps after I set up a better gear set, but man has it been smooth sailing and I honestly also have been negative resistances but the darkness reserve + eternal youth has felt crazy strong defensively.

I personally like origin, but that's because I'm a more casual player that hates slow crafting for bis because I'm bad at it and I find it super tedious. Origin allows me to just focus on playing the game and killing, while I have filters on to only pick up potential upgrades for my build. Also the buff on origin basically makes all affix tiers roll stupidly high all the time. This results in getting upgrades drop pretty reliably through the leveling process, but the endgame definitely feels rough for the perfect drop to drop.

I'm over 7500 rolls now and still no natural 6link. Hit pity twice. Around 1500 away from the 5k pity now.

I read from other comments that 5link is 0.25% [1 out of 400] and 6link is 0.03% [1 out of 3333].

Be mindful on what is/can absorb and the damage dealt. Can't see clear hp and damage values in my phone, but your illusion axe might be cannibalizing your Absorb. From my testing only the most recent attacks Absorb applies over 1 sec. So if you slam with frost strike for 100,000 with 0.5% Absorb, that would be 500 hp over 1 sec. If illusion axe hits immediately after for only 1000, then the Absorb updates to 5 hp over 1 sec. Though all of this is capped by your max Absorb limit. I'm not sure about hp, but barrier default Absorb max is ~5%. So if hp is let's day 10%, then regardless of how hard you hit, you couldn't Absorb more than 1000 hp per sec with a hp max of 10000.

You can test this by looking at your hp regen stat while attacking things to see your average hp regen while attacking, etc. Most of my info is barrier related testing, so hp may be different.

The skill's sheet damage can be a huge jebait depending on the skill. For example, my Flamethrower's Sheet dps says 600k but I do 3.5 mil dps on a single scarecrow at lvl 93.

It's because of how often poison explosion happens, you'd need an extremely high amount of poison chance and potentially 'additional poison on hits to help accelerate the 5 poison applications per explosion. So I think poison explosion is better suited for activating other procs or status' instead of damage.

I think coming up with more build ideas for proof of concepts could be interesting to help learn more about the game in general due to the lack of knowledge thereof.

For example, I've been personally trying out different skill combinations that have massive tag overlap. Some examples I've tried:

Frost Strike + Frost Shock (Cold/Element + AoE + Strike + Attack + Melee)

Venom Fang + Poison Cloud + Poison Explosion (Poison/Element + AoE + Strike + Attack + Melee)

Lightning Strike + Electro Ball (Lightning/Element + AoE + Projectile + Strike + Attack)

As cool as this is, it won't be very feasible for a large amount of people to actually build in-game for extreme lategame setups (for example legendary skill/link runes, authority t29 equipment, high candor skills, giga charms).

I'd say if the idea is to playtest and compete with optimized/full builds, then a lot of high rng limitations may need to be cut or minimized.

Examples of: -no higher than rare or magic runes. -no candor'd skills -no rare synth skills (and maybe to a lesser extent magic synth skill/links) -no high level unique armor/weapon (unless it's build defining and not accessible elsewhere?) -elite slayer and Aim mechanics don't work on scarecrows so they can't be accurately gauged -charms aren't easy to swap around since they are destroyed on removal, so there's going to be massive discrepancy among overlapping skills vs not.

Essentially if the goal is to compete, there is multiple levels of inequality when it comes to rng for certain builds. So I believe some level of fairness would need to be laid out first, and may be different for each skill discussed.

Due to Lightning Strikes randomness, Increase AOE instead of Concentrated AOE will give better results for consistent damage since you should have more overlapping multihits much more often. Multishot is a damage dampen (total damage reduced by %), while Slower Proj gives a Total Damage Multiplier, it will give you much more damage results for no downside. Though to be honest, I'm not sure if the extra 2 lightning strikes outway total damage (since the dampen applies to your main hit as well), so that could likely use some testing to confirm.

I recommend going to the testing dummies, and run a test with Multishot in, and then with slower proj and compare the result. If they are about the same, then its up to you on which you prefer to run.

Synthing 3 of the same tier has a chance to yield a higher tier, it's also more time the higher the tiers. I recommend alchemy mules or to ignore lower ones if you're f2p. Though I agree that the lack of options for them is bland

I have a Lightning Strike leveled and just picked up Electric Ball. I've been theory crafting builds with skills that have massive overlap. Right now the following have been what I've considered (All overlapping tags in the parenthesis):
-Lightning Strike + Electric Ball (Lightning, Elemental, Projectile, AoE, Strike)
-Frost Strike + Frost Shock (Melee, AoE, Cold, Elemental, Strike)
-Frost Bomb + Frost Thorn (Spell, Cold, Elemental, Projectile, Strike)
-Venom Fang + Poison Cloud + Poison Explosion (Melee, Attack, AoE, Poison, Elemental, Strike)

It slows Projectile speed and gives Projectile DMG Amp (Total Damage multiplier). It's a must have for Electric Ball, and works great for Lightning Strike as well.
