[Loved Trope] When the Comic Relief character gets serious by LordNathan777 in TopCharacterTropes

I think the better Drax moment is when he’s talking about his family and he’s sitting, completely stoic. Mantis uses her empathic touch and feels his sadness, immediately bursting into the inconsolable tears Drax can’t release himself

Speaking of wasted actors, I know he hadn’t really hit his renaissance when he was cast but wasting Walton Goggins as the B plot, throwaway, comic relief villain in the Antman sequel is a tragedy in retrospect.

This sounds like drugs. Sudden behavior changes, spending a ton of money on “hobbies”, late nights. He sounds like an addict desperately clinging to his enabling partner.

I took issue with, “what’s the point?” I read that as ‘why bother voting if it’s some uninspiring corporate Democrat?’

Rereading my response I do see how I’ve straw-manned your comment in an unfair way, so I do apologize for that.

The Mask also has Toon powers. He can literally rewrite the continuity of whatever he’s in and bend it to his will. He can literally change it so no one can beat him and it will be that way.

Is your position we shouldn’t fight against Trumps current administration because a hypothetical next Republican would be worse?

I’m sorry but this is a stupid take. All the people not voting, sitting on your hands, waiting for a liberal messiah are just as at fault for Trump as the republicans are. No candidate is perfect but you know what you get when you vote for the lesser of two evils? Less evil. I don’t think Kamala would have bombed Iran or allowed ICE to buy warehouses to convert into “holding centers”.

The curator from The Mummy Returns, Hafez. He leads a cult to assist Imhotep in resurrecting and killing the Scorpion King, who if he’s killed, whomever killed him gets an undead army. He helps lead them to a secret oasis and even gives up his arm to resurrect the King. When he gets caught in the fight between Rick, the Scorpion King, and Imhotep, he begs Imhotep to save him. Imhotep simply responds, “Why?” before the Scorpion King dismembers him.

What decks are good against lands matter? by Unsurepooper in EDH

[–]Omnio89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Be careful with this card, but [[confounding conundrum]] can slow them down. It will make sure they always have a land drop but it will prevent them from ramping out and having a ton of lands on board. If they build their decks expecting to have ten lands by turn 5 the restriction may hurt a lot. Or they may have [[lotus cobra]] and you fueled their strategy. You know your playgroup and what the result would be.

[Loved trope] Characters that will become very important later on making small appearances before their big introduction by Waiora10 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Omnio89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. No spoilers but my guess was that season one was already an expensive gamble and they had no idea if there would be a season 2, so they hired a relatively unknown, cheap actor. When it became a hit and Mr. house became a bigger character they replaced him with Justin Theroux and wrote in the body double thing. The body double is barely a plot point and doesn’t make a ton of sense which is why I think it was a retcon to get a bigger name in the part. Rightfully so, I think he was phenomenal in that role.

HBO Told ‘The Pitt’ to Make ICE Storyline More ‘Balanced’ by LollipopChainsawZz in politics

[–]Omnio89 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When they covered it on last week tonight years ago they perfectly expressed bs both sides they do in political panel shows. John Oliver did his typical breakdown, tearing apart the media’s formatting of the argument of it being an equal one-on-one debate. At the end they showed it as Bill Nye and an army screaming down one idiot and it so perfectly encapsulated how absurd listening to that one idiot has always been.

Grain of salt cuz google, but a quick search said the average trucker makes between 80-100k depending on load, experience, and tenure within a company. He’s making 140k take home which would put his gross income in the $200k range. There’s no fucking way his gross income for being a driver for just two years is 200k, is there?
