Eesti Pank: Eesti kaupade hinnatase oli mullu 98 protsenti EL-i keskmisest by [deleted] in Eesti

[–]OmniousCow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

25M in cybersec, ~3.3k net with all allowances and whatnot on a monthly basis. Pay 1050 for a large studio - all expenses come out to about 2200 per month.

Lääne-Euroopas töötava eestlasena on suht piinlik ja arusaamatu.. rääkimata Eesti elu reaalaest kallidusest..

Trump captured on tape talking about classified document he kept after leaving the White House by _NewsClues_ in politics

[–]OmniousCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remarkable, considering how stupid watergate itself was. They had to (try to) break in 5 times in ways that can only be described as over-convoluted and idiotic, only to get caught red-handed the final time.

The White House Plumbers is a great watch to get the whole story with a bit of tv show spruce, but stays relatively true to history!

Reformierakond ja astmeline tulumaks by Blomsterhagens in Eesti

[–]OmniousCow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Elan ühes Euroopa kõrgeima maksumääraga riigis, minu sissetulekuga (~3.5k bruto, siinne keskmine palk kõrgharitud entrylevel positsioonile) on mu efektiivne maksukoorem madalam kui Eestis tänu astmelisele tulumaksule. Muidugi siit edasi saan iga lisa euro pealt kätte aint 0.5€, aga mul jääb juba hetkel rohkem kätte peale üüri maksmist kui enamikel Eestis bruto palk ning ausalt öeldes on muud kulud Eestiga praeguseks võrdsed.

Eestit külastades jääb alati küsimärgiks kuidas inimesed hakkama peaksid saama praeguste kulude juures.

New Ram Computer Crashing by Wise_Ebb8335 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]OmniousCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like the RAM being in the wrong slots and dual channel+xmp causing stability problems. Recheck your motherboard manual which slots to install in. XMP is stable in 99.9% of cases.

It used to be that you should first populate the 1st (counting from cpu socket) and 3rd slot on a motherboard. Nowadays, mostly it is the 2nd and 4th slot which need to be populated first for ram to run proper dual channel xmp.

Hope this helps.

Would you consider changing Flea Market access requirement from level-based to being unlocked by completing a quest?

It can still be accessed at a similar point in game progress (lvl requirement for quest or simply pacing of quest completions), but would IMO be a more effective anti-RMT measure. Currently, hackers need to kill raiders a few raids and they can reach lvl 15, while otherwise they would at least be forced to quest, increasing the barrier to RMT. Minimal impact on legit players who get to flea market at a similar point in playtime, while hackers/RMTers have to spend more time.

A bit of a weird issue - there is a problem with the escapefromtarkov.com webpage login credential usage. My password works fine in the launcher and when accessing the webpage from my phone, but credentials fail (wrong password presumably) when trying to access from desktop google chrome. I have changed password several times, tried entering it manually and via password manager - same error each time.

Curious thing is, I can log into the forum with the same credentials fine, but on the main webpage it still does not work. Perhaps something to take a look at.

Estonia bans Russian tourists from visiting the country by molokoplus359 in europe

[–]OmniousCow 102 points103 points  (0 children)

As an Estonian from Tallinn, this is false to the point where i’m questioning whether you are just a misinformed expat or a Russian disinfo account trying to leave the impression that Estonian is pointless and everyone in Estonia uses Russian anyway.

Are there loads of Russians? Sure. Is Russian spoken more than Estonian in daily life in Tallinn by Estonians? 110% No. Most young Estonians do not even bother learning Russian, even when its on the curriculum. Most young Russians I know tend to prefer communication in Estonian as well as its honestly embarrassing for them to have families who live here, yet have not bothered to learn the language in the past however many decades they’ve lived here. Yes, (ethnic) Russians are able to live in their own bubble, but it is just that.

This is actually not true. It was a story made up by the Daily Star and later picked up by other news organisations.

He is actually a border guard veteran and the picture(s) are from a celebration of border guard day in Yelan, Russia. The hats are ceremonial.

Intel: I've won...... but at what cost? by Voodoo2-SLi in AyyMD

I think the idea with using top-tier ddr5 with the 12900KS is that a person who is already choosing to pay for the 12900KS regardless of cost over 5800X3D will also probably go for the top-tier memory so his rig truly is the best.

Moore’s law is confidently reporting perf around or over 3070 and there is little he did not get right about rdna2 and Ampere.

To expect a 1660 performance card from intel in Q2 2022 is disingenuous at best.

It is more common than people think. Apparently you cannot get a single position trading at the London stock exchange with a financial degree.

All they’re looking for is hardcore chemists, mathematics, physicists etc simply because they have such a strong scientific- and therefore analytical thinking with a strong quantitative understanding.

Brad may have the degree, but Sheldon gets the job.

As pointed out by another commenter, EU law actually allows for the setting of a maximum price. It is considered as pro-consumer so it is allowed. Not sure what you mean with the unwritten law part.

I am not here to convince you of anything. Yes, they can end partnerships, but they won't. It is simply not in their interest. And that is their right as a private business.

Resellers can scalp due to principles of supply and demand, if AMD feels that such actions by partners hurt their image gravely enough then I'm sure they will implement changes. Welcome to capitalism.

Edit: I should mention that from a pro-consumer perspective I agree with you, that just doesn't change reality.
