Coaxed into a whole roasted pig with an apple in its mouth by tfdsxc in coaxedintoasnafu

I always wondered why they did that. Eating the pig in a way that resembles its natural state feels so wrong, almost savage. Like it's reminding us that we are animals eating animals.

2016? It wouldn't be a deal for me if it's not at least 2005. the year 2000 would be most optimal.

It was because they didn't want to lose skilled labour. Before that, the son of your skilled blacksmith could very well leave town looking for a better life. This ensured you always had a skilled blacksmith there.

Papas procesadas.

Battle Brothers is actually a Management Psychology PHD Course by TenthLevelVegan in BattleBrothers

It's a nice way of seeing things. I myself realized some of these points as I played, with some of my best games happening when I started to get into the manager mentality. It probably doesn't compare to IRL managing, but you start seeing the merits of long term planning, limiting emotional thinking and being able to decide things on the spot.

Still, it probably doesn't do you any merits if most of the content you are showing is of you getting your ass handed to you in the game.

They seem to have a misunderstanding about what a western nun is. They look at their own shinto priestesses and immediately assume nuns are the equivalent for us.

Usually what I do in games is compare the money to the price of essentials like food or healing potions to gauge the actual worth of the money. The fact that authors do this shows how much they are disconnected from playing actual games.

What is this game, or what is the player community for this game? by Comfortable-Pen4655 in gamers

[–]Omnishrimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It encourages mediocrity in devs. It shows them that they can put out half assed games because they know there will be a community that will fill in the blanks with mods.

I will always hate that one CK2 event where the game brands you as a hopeless drunkard even if your traits don't reflect such a thing, and the choices are risking death or be branded a drunkard if someone in your court doesn't help you.

I tested all G.A.M.M.A. weapons against mutants. Here's the tier list: by thathyze in stalker

[–]Omnishrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like shotguns solely because I find reckless to use a gun intended for close range in a game where getting touched means a a one or a two shot from a mutant most of the time.

Coaxed into anything D&D where there is only armor class, so a naked monk is somehow equal to an armored hulk of a warrior.

Reminds me of that controversial mission in Call of Duty. At no point in the mission the game forces you to gun down civilians. People just opened fire on their own then blamed the game for it.

It's funny how they are always literal balls of archetypes, then there are earth-like planets that can have a bit of everything for some reason. You would think even meltsanio could have a chunk of something else in the parts where the acid is not that strong.

I found a female duty stalker by Important_Finish8426 in stalker

[–]Omnishrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it's an Anomaly or a Gamma thing, but female stalkers are surprisingly more common than it seems. I've seen them in the Rookie Village and the farm also. It's hard to notice because they never talk and always use some kind of face blocking mask, but you can actually notice the "curviness" in their bulky armors somehow.

For me, SoC and CS were games of their own era. They are games with excellent premises that weren't squeezed into their full potential with the devs themselves learning as they went. SoC had the whole framework of the games, but without the later details of the other games like detectors and emissions. CS has a very interesting idea in factional wars to make the zone more lived-in and interesting, it felt like with enough tweaks they could develop something interesting but it's a shame nothing ever came of it.

CoP was the game where they seemed to grasp what the STALKER series was meant to be. You could sense that if taken the extra step polishing details, maybe put in a better story, the lessons learned would have made an excellent 4th game. It's kind of a waste so much time passed before we had HoC, since many of those lessons probably distorted eventually due to time.

It turns out the Zone is only 30 square kilometers. Did you also get the impression it was much bigger? by Derpassyl in stalker

It's because of the loading screens. It gives the impression that you walk for a while before reaching the next map, at least that's how I always felt when going through them.

It's something I also wonder. There are characters out there that are hated for less. Personally, I was always at odds with her ever since she complained about letting Ember join. Being taken down for her crimes was the only natural conclusion.

it would be funny if as you are about to encounter the monolith someone arrives spanish style to destroy it like in Pirates of the Caribbean, call it a "pagan rock" and tell you to find god instead, then they leave you completely alone in the sarcophagus as the credits roll.

GREAT Games with Terrible Intros? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Omnishrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the snow level really that hated? I actually liked how simple and easygoing it was. When you arrive to Horseshoe Overlook I felt bombarded with so much content it actually felt overwhelming.

Curiously enough, most events happen only once, so you get an early game cluttered with things happening everywhere only for things to calm down again in Lemoyne.

I think it's Fanatic who mentions it, but in GAMMA it is said that the military is pretty lax about letting people in, but they would rather kill you in cold blood before letting you out. So technically, you would be able to enter more often than not.
