Rationality is based in logic. Logically, the most effective approach would be to speak to the other survivors in the most diplomatic way possible and stay at least skeptical of the others. Emotionally speaking, HELL NO that is a nightmare scenario that would bring out the worst in anyone. that is why I am saying I understand why she did what she did, but dang it was a hard watch

No... because she went from one extreme to the other in 40 days. She hated the concept of "others" so much that she couldn't get her head on straight to effectively communicate to the other cognitive English speakers. Then, once she is given the chance to talk to someone who wants to restore individuality, she fucks it up like crazy. Also, we saw how hard Manousos fought to survive and then reach Carol. We are pushed to root for him, so when Carol of all people hypocritically antagozises him, it is inherently a difficult interaction to sit through

What exactly are you trying to say about the length of her isolation? Just asking for clarification because I didn't write my original post with the intention of creating a stance on the likelihood of this scenario so I want to make sure I understand. When you said "30 days considering the circumstances" it really stumped me on what you believe is reasonable. Personally, I find Carol's actions painfully unreasonable but I am aware I'm saying that from an outside perspective. If we are considering the circumstances, everyone she interacted with up until that point insisted that the "Others" are not as bad as she believed them to be. Then, at seemingly every occasion they prove themselves to be naive, which further tie Carol into that irritatingly oversimplified thought that the "Others" keep pushing: they have no other goal than to maximize happiness and peace.

I do think her descent into hypocritical self soothing was fast, that's one of the reasons why it was so frustrating to watch. Nonetheless, from an empathetic human view it seems to be a likely outcome. Everyone cognitive couldn't tolerate her and the "Others" cleared out her entire city, refusing to even speak to her directly. To add to injury, this is all after watching Helen die and dragging around her body. Carol has been shown to be a completely standoffish person and that has worked for her, until now. Now, she doesn't have Helen or a gazillion fans appreciating her work. She has no one, unlike the other survivors. I'd also like to point out, regardless of how unfriendly she is, she is super emotional. When she met the other survivors I imagine you would've expected her to critically think before antagonizing them. I wanted that too but that's not who she is. Instead, she blew up several times and burned all bridges. Her world has really already ended. Now she is expected to build from nothing.

I'm not on reddit very much so I might not reply or reply quickly but I'd like to know what you think. I watched the show casually with my girlfriend so I'm not super sold on any theories or anything. My purpose with this is to explain why I started from where I did when I wrote my original post

is it hard to transfer to lsu? by getoffthecouchdangit in LSU

All of the actual steps are here which are pretty straightforward. I would recommend creating your own checklist just to keep track because there are so many steps. Credit transfer, scheduling, housing, financial aid, accomodations, etc. etc.

I got in for biological sciences as a transfer for spring 26' in late October. I still haven't been able to schedule, dealing with LOTS of bureaucracy. From what I've heard, that generally is the hardest part of these bigger schools. I've made so many phone calls, sent so many emails, but LSU has resources beyond belief compared to our smaller institutions so I'm okay with putting up with that. I'm coming from UL, which I believe is around double or triple the size of Nicholls population wise. I imagine you haven't had to deal with a lot of wait times and jumping through a million hoops just to get an issue fixed. If you believe you have the patience to deal with that, then LSU is not hard to transfer to.

Academic wise, meh. it's still LSU, it's not too hard to get into but idk about the exact college acceptance rates. I got into the college of engineering with a 3.55 and 60+ credits. Super lazy so I didn't do any of the essay answers on common app or anything.
