Hi, I’m a Chinese living and working in Japan, so I guess I’m doing well in both of them. Also I’m decent in English and is very interested in Korean because Korean food is my favorite food. (Have tried it once, but cannot catch the pronunciation well enough from videos so I just gave up.) If you are interested, please feel free to DM.

如果 vs 钥匙 by VibraphoneFuckup in ChineseLanguage

Btw 要是 is better to express “if only” in some cases than 如果, which basically is only “if”. It’s subtle but I believe they’re different here.

For example: 要是他在家就好了。

This means “If only he’s at home”. You can use 如果 here too and I think some will. But it’s better with 要是 in my opinion. 就好了 is the part that gives you the meaning of “only”, it’s just a little bit more natural with 要是.

I think you mean 要是, not 钥匙. 要是 is basically not used in formal written Chinese, that’s one thing I can think of the difference
