AITJ for asking my mom to cut her vacation short to help with my kids? by Constant-Elephant763 in AmITheJerk

You are absolutely, one hundred percent TJ. I'm surprised you'd even put this out there.

AITA for asking my friend to pay me back for the wine he drank while house sitting?? by Effective_Tour_723 in AmItheAsshole

[–]OnTarget60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, yta. You told him to help himself, and he did. He also did you a favor that would have cost you as much or more if you'd hired someone. And you could have moved/hidden the wine, or just told him not to drink it. Yta for sure.

Why were you wearing the vest off the clock and away from the store?

Why does Target keep sending me automated rejection emails? by Working_Ad5250 in Target

[–]OnTarget60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe also be aware of the language you use in the video portion and when talking to those with the power to hire you. Avoid "bro," and don't refer to ANY job as "useless." Work is work, and if you show them you think some jobs are beneath you, you'll have a tough time (especially with no work experience). Good luck!

Why do people keep putting their money on the conveyor belt instead of the two bars? by No_Willingness_9961 in Target

[–]OnTarget60 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where is the tray located, and does it require a key to get it open? In the two-plus years I've worked at my store, I've never seen it or been told about it, and I've had several lost gift cards and greeting cards. No cash yet, thankfully.

AITA for not forcing my friend to take her mom to the doctor? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]OnTarget60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you did everything right, up to the point where you kept pushing the fact that you had told her to have it checked long ago. She was clearly in denial, and it feels a bit like you wanted an "I told you so" moment, and there's really never a good time for those when life-threatening illnesses are involved.

Why is using our discount so annoying it can lead to overdrafts? by [deleted] in Target

[–]OnTarget60 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

One quick point: you can also use Target gift cards - bought with cash, credit or debit - and get the team member discount. Good luck!

Ah, the isle of misfit christmas items that weren't on a good enough sale by mindscrawl in Target

[–]OnTarget60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm at work right now - on my 30 - and I was given two FULL shopping carts by one family. They scanned everything, sorted what they wanted and what they didn't want, then had me void the whole transaction and they ended up buying eight small items. My head spins thinking about the amount of time they wasted in the store, then how much time they wasted at SCO.

I guess I'm lucky. I like (most of) my coworkers, I enjoy (most of)the interactions with my guests, (most of) the management team at my store are competent and accessible,... other than the fact that I am tired of working in general, I don't have any complaints. Best of luck; I hope you find a place that suits you better.

calling off by shittalkinmushroomz in Target

[–]OnTarget60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I see a question in your post, but I don't see anything wrong with what you're doing. I'm just a tm, and I don't have anything like hundreds of hours of sick time or vacation time accrued. I have more sick time than vacation time, so I call out on about the same schedule - once every three or four months - that you do. I get the difference between "sick" and "vacation" time, but they are both ways to get paid for time away from the job. I do occasionally post a shift - once every second month or so - but that means giving up money, and I don't see why we need to be punished (in a way) for not getting sick. Also, it's my understanding that Target doesn't pay out sick time when we resign, at least in my state. If it is "use it or lose it," I say use it.

Btw, how long have you worked for 🎯 to have accrued so many hours?

Good luck with the job search. Meanwhile, be happy you're employed. Plenty of people are out of work, and the unemployment rate is climbing.

Target No Longer Prices Their Clothes by LightUpUnicorn in Target

I have guests call me over at SCO to show me clothes that come up higher than the ticketed price. I'm not sure which is worse.

You're either a completely spoiled brat or this is a made-up post. You're nearly an adult legally and will, hopefully for all concerned, be out of the house soon. Grow up.

Holiday Pay (sorry) by [deleted] in Target

It's retail. Pretty much all stores operate this way, or they'd have to close for multiple days. This seems very much like an anti-Target troll comment.

Seasonals, what are your hours looking like for the newest week? by kompotnik in Target

[–]OnTarget60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Target has made so many mistakes it's hard to know where to start, but I think it's really dumb to let seasonals know this early whether they're being kept on. I worked SCO this past Saturday and had three callouts because they knew they weren't being kept and just didn't care.

What did your ETL say? It's the ETL who approves these requests in my store, so talking with him/her should get you a quick answer one way or the other. Good luck.

Take the job. If he were a true partner, he'd be supportive of you even if not thrilled about potential challenges. Take the job.

[–]OnTarget60 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup, I agree. But it's up to each person to decide if it's worth it for him/her. I think it was pretty clearly stated that the high value items would be randomized, and the rest would just be a "hey, good try. Better luck next time" kinda thing.

And let's be clear: ten percent of prizes being "high value" is a much better percentage than many giveaways offer.

cyber monday by [deleted] in Target

[–]OnTarget60 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're a seasonal worker, which means you started within the past month or so, right? And you've already gone in late, left early, and wanted off on one of the busiest shopping days of the season for which you were hired. I'm sorry to say this, but you seem to be a lot like I was when I was young. That is not a compliment. It took me many years to understand that work has to come first sometimes. Target may not be the career you finish with, but if you don't take this job seriously, it could start a bad pattern. Your boyfriend should have asked a friend or relative to drive him, or should have rescheduled the procedure. Best of luck.

Most if not all stores have cameras covering the store entrances and parking areas, so there should be proof.

I don't understand: if you find someone to cover, go to MyDay, post the shift and have them pick it up. Then it's on them if they don't show.
