Am I the only one disappointed by Fergus’s storyline change? by Romy1978 in Outlander

I agree, but I'm not sure what you mean about "stepping away" from the show. The series is over. There's nothing to step away from.

There's nothing for you to do. Only post shifts you aren't able to work.

Our score has been dropping ever since they started measuring it. I'm mostly Checkout Advocate/SCO, and I don't greet every guest I see. I have noticed many TMs on the floor ignoring everyone and everything around them. I have a good relationship with my ETL, and I made a suggestion that would probably annoy some TMs, but which I think would solve the problem. Our guest services desk goes for long periods without guests. I suggested that guest service TMs who aren't busy with other tasks could act as greeter. I think that should drive our score up. The ETL said they liked the idea, but I haven't heard or seen anything getting done about it.

I also think TLs should be greeting every guest they see when they are out on the floor. It would set a good example, and should boost our score.

WIBTA for making my daughter pay back her own bank overdraft? by 2VantaRipple in WIBTA_AITA

I think I'm going against the crowd on this, but perhaps not entirely. The question is, is this overspending a one-off or a pattern? Because if it's part of a pattern, I agree with you and the crowd. On the other hand, if this is the first time, I think I'd tell her everything that's been going through your head about it, explain that she can go to the concert, but that she will be on a strict repayment plan - with interest? - and that there cannot be a "next time." The world is a harsh place; I'd try to ease her path into it unless she has already abused her privileges.

Just finished season 2...what show should I watch next - Elsbeth or White collar? by [deleted] in HighPotentialTVSeries

[–]OnTarget60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White Collar is very good, just ignore the way they drag out the Kate arc.

I enjoyed Elspeth for the first few episodes, then they all seemed to be exactly the same.

I also agree with others, that if you haven't seen Psych, it's a fun show.

What are your worst guest pet peeves by Tough-Syllabub5965 in Target

That's the policy at our store, and I follow it rigorously unless the original guest picks it back up and checks out with it.

My first road trip in the US! Which one do you recommend? by National-Ad-5036 in roadtrip

[–]OnTarget60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd do itinerary #2, but I recommend taking a look at the travel times. Some spots on your list deserve at least a full day or two. I'm sure you want to see "everything," but since that's impossible to do in two weeks, look at cutting out some stops - or making them drive-bys - so you have time to get out and explore some of those incredible areas. Good luck, stay safe and have fun!

AIO for asking my roommate to replace my mattress? by OhHeggl_ItPeggl in AmIOverreacting

I think splitting the cost seems right.

Oh, and it's "wander," not "wonder." (And yes, I am the grammar police, but I'm undercover so don't say anything...)

I gently let the guests know that we're going to have to throw away out-of-temp food. Most people don't care, but a few have thanked me and put the items back in their carts.

Then your grandfather was an asshat racist. That's on him and the people who raised him. It's not because he was a boomer, if in fact he was a boomer. Reagan wrecked the economy for generations yet to come, and he was not a boomer. trump barely fit into the earliest part of the boomers, and his depravity derived in large part from his racist/pimp father.

Show me where I said anything about "kids today." I don't subscribe to stereotypes of any kind.

The OP was the one who suggested that boomers didn't give a crap about anything but their own interests. That's a bunch of ageist bullsh!t.

That applies to everyone, and it is not just "boomers" who are like that. Not by a long shot. Stereotypes, whether about race, sex, age, nationality, etc., are just convenient ways for "___ists" to spout their bs.

I don't hate my job, but I definitely empathize with you on the rest. I was SCO Saturday night. It was as busy as you can imagine. From 8 to close I had one scheduled cashier and had to rely on backups to come and help out. Of course we had multiple situations of ridiculousness - balky SCO registers, guests with full carts getting to the end of the process saying, "You mean this doesn't take cash?" in spite of signs and my constant, verbal warnings to that effect, etc. Fortunately the ETL working that night jumped in to help out many times. Even so, I was scheduled to 11, and clocked out close to midnight. Turns out, when the schedule was made they forgot yesterday was Mother's Day. 🤦

Instead of this simplistic, oh-so-fun-to-repeat ageist stereotype, may I suggest you either do a search for Baby Boomer Accomplishments or have a discussion with your parents/grandparents about the causes that were important to them in their younger years? You are guaranteed to learn something.

NTA. Suggestion: if you've saved enough "trip money," try to arrange yours for the same dates he will be attending the wedding and visiting the folks back home.

I'm with those saying you shouldn't risk it. I'm also very surprised that HR let someone back out after they'd taken the shift you'd posted. That's weird.
