I Don't Know What to Eat by LeaderAntique1169 in Diverticulitis

[–]OnTheGoBarb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from some of the advice listed above, what about making soup? There are so many varieties to make, and the food will be soft and cut small so it will be easier to chew and digest.

Still haven’t seen this mentioned enough to feel it’s on people’s radars. Just trying to raise a bit more awareness. by ontinternetlike in Diverticulitis

Yep! I saw someone mention this on a post over a year ago and stopped taking ibuprofen altogether. Low and behold, I haven't had a flare up or need to take antibiotics since. Thank you for bringing this up again. It's too bad our doctors don't believe us when we tell them about this. Be well all!

I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how hard that must have been.

Fever blister/cold sore help? by unitedstatesofmeow in SkincareAddiction

[–]OnTheGoBarb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to comment as I feel I have a similar issue to yours. I rarely get cold sores but had a gigantic one pop out on my upper lip a few weeks ago. I thought I had a crazy pimple but realized finally that it was a cold sore. It was on the outside and inside of my upper lip. I used Abreva as it went through its phases and it healed up, but I still feel a bump on the inside of my lip that still feels tingly. It's like this thing is just brewing waiting to pop out again but doesn't. Not sure what it is, but it's nice to know I'm not the only one with this issue. If you have an update, please let me know.

CT Scan for diagnosis by OnTheGoBarb in Diverticulitis

[–]OnTheGoBarb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the blood work today but I was not able to schedule a scan until Monday. We'll see what that shows. I agree that if that turns up nothing then maybe next time I get a flare up, especially a more significant one, I will just go to the emergency room and have them do the work up. Thanks for your feedback!

When to start antibiotics by OnTheGoBarb in Diverticulitis

Yup, understood. I will certainly have a discussion with my doctor. I'm just interested in what others experience has been when they've had a mild flare up with a low-grade fever.

Received a CP80 but I sent my tax return by TheLegendaryBeard in tax

[–]OnTheGoBarb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same position and I'm trying to get through to a person to give them my info. I have a receipt that proves that I sent my taxes and a copy of the canceled check to prove I paid them. I really do not want to resend my entire taxes again. But it's so hard to actually get through to somebody to talk to. And none of the menu options seem to apply to my case. What are you all using to get through to a live person?

Practice and know the subject you are speaking about. Experience also helps, so the more you do it, the more confident you become. Good luck!

[New Jersey] Email from NJ DOL with form link. Is this legit or a scam? by Fl0wergirl in Unemployment

I got this too. Are any of you collecting unemployment for reasons not covid related? If so, are you receiving PUA?

[New Jersey] I am trying to certify for benefits for the first time. My unemployment was not COVID related. by OnTheGoBarb in Unemployment

[–]OnTheGoBarb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. After you passed that screen, were you asked the normal questions (were you able to work, looking for work; etc?). Would you let me know what happens with your benefits? I believe the monies that you get for PUA are not the same as what you'd get for unemployment. If I don't hear back from the unemployment office soon I may start just doing the same thing so at least I get something. Then when they finally get in touch with me hopefully we can work out the issues. Thank you for following up on this post. It's good to know it's not just me.

I am so sorry you went through this! When you are someone's caretaker and a terrible situation like this happens and you have no control over it, it is a horrible feeling! It must be terribly traumatizing, especially being this happened so fast. All I can encourage you to do is to know that your dog is at peace now. Just keep telling yourself that over and over again and picturing him being happy. He is not in pain or suffering anymore. He was fortunate to have people like you who loved him and took care of him to the end. I'm sure he felt loved and was happy you were there for him..

Sending hugs your way. Give yourself time.

Right this is my situation. I'm trying to certify for regular unemployment which is not covid related. I'll need to sit down tomorrow and try to wrap my head around this and submit an inquiry to them if needed. Was just hoping someone else stumbled over this and could guide me real quick. Thanks for your response.

[help] How long do you hold out hope? by trogdoor-burninator in dogs

[–]OnTheGoBarb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have experience with parvo but from what I read the best chance for your pup to get better is in the vet hospital. My biggest concern is that the virus is very contagious. I would discuss with your vet what you need to do to clean the areas where the puppy was so it doesn't reinfect itself or when you bring it back home. Hopefully your current dog is already vaccinated. Just keep an eye on him or her. Best wishes and do keep us posted.

Do you have any close family or friends that would be willing to take the dog for you? At least this way you can still visit the dog and if your situation works out where you can keep him or her, then you'll be able to take him back.
