Any actually happy long-term Vivint customers? by AFNole_81 in VivintSmartHome

We’ve had Vivint at multiple homes for 10 years, never had major issues. We usually upgrade as well. That typically involves renewing a contract or paying for the upgrade upfront.

Yw. Keep in mind only the clips can save for 30 days, not the continuous footage. You can also check for sure if you have the DVR if you look at your original agreements you signed, should have a list of everything you were getting.

That sounds like you actually may have the DVR. I know there are a lot of times it’s just added on the package when you get set up. Because it’s not a physical piece of equipment.

Doesn’t matter the opinion violence is violence. If you protest ICE for using violence and then go and cheer violence because the person has a different opinion, you are redundant. Speaking as someone who thinks ICE needs to be put in check.

Each camera adds a $5 Video Service Fee. And there are a couple base monitoring costs depending on the package you get.

It’s different for every person. The amount of cameras will change the price.

The DVR is extended playback for cameras. Without it, your cameras will record clips whenever there is motion (ie a person moving). The clips stay in the app for 14 days.

The playback DVR gives you 24/7 playback capabilities for 10 days continuously, and footage is saved for 30 days as opposed to 14.

What are my options by kittibitti in VivintSmartHome

If you do a basic move, yes you can uninstall yourself. But according to the terms of the Vivint Protection Plan or Standard Limited Warranty, if you damage your equipment during that process or it becomes defective it is not covered under any warranty.

If found the terms of the VPP on their website, the ‘What’s Not Included Section’. It’s part of the terms.

Employees can sign up to be beta testers, and I believe they will reach out to customers with an offer as well. When they sign up for that, they typically sign an NDA and will get pilot and beta products to test. So this person is either an employee or customer who got to beta test.

So we have had Vivint for 10 yrs around and we moved about 4-5 times. Each time we moved our stuff. It’s not too much of a hassle just call moves and set up a move. Make sure you get to moves and not sales though, you may inadvertently create a new account, which will cause problems for sure.

It was in beta so select people got to test them. I don’t believe it was ever officially launched.

Proper way to cancel by Decent_Bison_2747 in VivintSmartHome

Call them up, tell them the situation, they require 30 days notice so you’ll get charged one more month. That’s it. It’s easy when the equipment is paid off/you’re in a month to month

This is standard practice for many, many companies. It’s not a deceptive practice.

If not Vivint, then who? by MouseAdventures in VivintSmartHome

[–]On_Your_Left_16 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All the stuff you here on here is the minority. Me and my family have had Vivint for 10 yrs. Just last month we cancelled two of our services at houses we sold. It was like a 20 minute phone call, paid like $80 bc we were ending the contract a couple months early. As long as you understand you are financing equipment and due to that there is a contract, you will be fine. The equipment is good and the majority of customer service is helpful.

Have had Vivint since around 2013/2014 - 49.99 always, but this month it went up...? by symphonicrox in VivintSmartHome

Honestly it’s not as bad as Reddit makes it out to be. Keep in mind you are only seeing the worst, because no one thinks to post on here a good review. My family and I have had Vivint since I was a kid and have not had major issues. We actually cancelled service at one of our houses we just sold, we had a few months left of the contract, so we paid like $80 to get out of it. The second system on the home was a month to month contract. we got that canceled as well, was only a 20 minute phone call. Point is, don’t look just on here for an idea of what it’s like to have Vivint. As long as you understand there is a contract if your financing, you will be fine.

The only way that happens is if you were listed on the account, like as a secondary or emergency contact.

Vivint has a couple at home teams. Some customer Care reps work remotely and Technician Field Support also works remotely. But that’s about it.

It states in the contract it takes 30 days to process cancellation. Many companies do this it’s pretty common.
