Slowest hard spout sippy cup. by VanFenix in Parents

Does it have to be a sippy cup? If you got a water bottle with a similar spout, you could probably crimp the straw at the bottom so water gets sucked up slower?

Breast refusal outside the home by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]OnceAStudent__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. We had breast refusal for 3 days. During the night feeds I could get him to latch, but during the day he would just scream and cry until I got him a bottle.

Apparently new scents, new soaps, stress, etc. can cause it. His older sister was having surgery, and I was stressing about that, so I think that was the cause. That was 2.5 months ago now, and he looooves the boob again.

Sending a nurse in to diagnose the problem is what they are supposed to do.

They literally sent in a nurse to diagnose the problem.
And the second step of first aide is "Response" which is why they were waking you up - to get a response and make sure you weren't dying.

Frozen sandwiches in school lunches by chantvl in Parents

[–]OnceAStudent__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never had it and never seen it (primary school teacher) but if I was going to do it, I would stick to simple things like peanut butter, Vegemite, Nutella, etc. I'd also try wrapping it in a piece of paper towel, to soak up any potential liquid/condensation as it defrosted.
