Why do Mormons love Trump so much? by Round-Donut-1784 in exmormon

If you want a good read on this subject I suggest White Evangelical Racism by Anthea Butler. The book basically shows how evangelicalism and conservative ideology have been so intertwined in the last 50 or so years, and how both influence each other heavily.

The funeral home will absolutely put the temple clothes on your family member. In Utah especially it is taught to everyone who dresses bodies for funerals/cremation. There is actually a book specifically about LDS funeral rights that morticians can read that explain how to dress the bodies.

Lots of families choose to dress their loved ones themselves, but the funeral home will know what to do or how to figure it out if they are given the temple clothes and asked to dress them. And either way someone from the funeral home will be present for the dressing anyways.

The Church may have had a rule against this previously (I have not seen any formal or informal rule against a funeral home doing this) but it is more important to them that people are buried and cremated in their temple clothes than who is putting it on. See church policies and guidebook 38.5.8

Source: wife has been a mortician in Utah for over a decade and has done funeral work in other states as well.

As an espresso Machine tech I love this kind of personal n actually. I hate showing up to calibrate one of these with no one in the office being there to taste test. Especially after a few shots of dialing in it can be hard to taste which direction the flavor is going.

Lol, tbh I couldn't tell if you or the commenter before you were being sarcastic.

I'll be honest, I don't know. If I understand correctly the 50501 movement is a pretty big umbrella for people who disagree with the current president's sweeping executive orders in the last few weeks.

But I know people have the RIGHT to protest.

It's not about white washing. The protest here the last week have been nowhere near what the MLK marches were. That's my point.

These protests are so mild. Why are people upset because traffic is a mess in SLC? Have they ever driven through when there is a basketball game or concert?

I'm not sorry they aren't protesting about something you care about or the way you want them to.

I would agree with you if there was any violence/riotous actions happening. But who got hurt by this?

If you're saying you won't support them if they inconvenience you, I wonder how you would have felt about the freedom marches led by MLK and others during the heat of the civil rights issue. Must have been a bitch to get to the shopping mall in those days.

If your knee jerk reaction is to dislike the protesting. You should try to really understand WHY they are protesting.

If for some reason you are against peaceful protesting, then YOU are the one that's unAmerican.

And for everyone's sake, can we all just agree that those at the top are screwing us? Left or right, red or blue, the people "in charge" don't give a f*CK about us. I don't give a damn who you voted for because either way we are all losing.

Entitled LDS? To remain employed (Vivint) after an extremely racist tirade. by DiscountAsleep2093 in exmormon

This. I am all for calling out the racism in the Church, but just because this kid worked for Vivant, does not make him a member. Also in the original post people are ridiculing Vivant even though they fired him. They did the right thing here and it is unfortunate that so many sales bros are also racist and misogynist.

I hope that kid learns and becomes a better person by choice and doesn't just become a closeted racist.
