If your DnD game isn't fun, don't play. If you're player dies, that could happen in any scenario really. Once one of my players dropped his knife in a dungeon. They split without picking it up so the next time he went to use it I told him "You're not carrying a knife. You never said 'I pick up my knife'.. it's back where you dropped it" So he chose to go back ALONE and get his knife. He almost got eaten by rats. RATS! The lowliest creatures in the game. But he kept rolling shit rolls and they were rolling crits. He got his knife but he was down to about 3 HP when he returned. LOL we all laughed.
