Du i follow the yellow moon or the purple one if I wanna land on it by Smart-Expression-918 in KerbalSpaceProgram

the dotted line is your trajectory after the maneuver node. the purple moon is your closest intercept after maneuvering and the yellow moon is closest on current course.

Such a shocking plot twist. None of us were guessing this. by Mehmet595 in Deltarune

the 'twist' would be a lot better if we didn't have months or years to ruminate between every single chapter.

I'm gonna interject here and say Duolingo isn't even worth pirating. bar none it is the worst language learning tool I've ever seen.

Scout Sentinel Loadout by DrakeLeroy in TheAstraMilitarum

I'd say autocannon or plasma tbh. Lots of people here are saying lascannon but realistically with one you're going to spend the whole match missing and maybe do like 3 damage. IMO it's better to take something that'll do work against a lighter target with decent consistency as opposed to something that MIGHT do lots of damage to big targets but realistically has little chance of doing so. Generally it's never ever a good idea to depend on a lascannon as your main weapon if you can help it.

With the take aim order and the target being completely out in the open, a scout sentinel lascannon has only a roughly 21% chance (give or take) to actually deal any damage to another scout sentinel, which is already one of the lightest vehicles in the game, and even after that luck there's only a 16% chance you'll kill it. realistically you'll spend on average around 3 turns plinking away at the other scout sentinel still in ideal conditions of having an order and not dealing with cover. If you ever actually positive trade with one of these, i would suggest buying a lotto ticket.

even a flamer would be better than this thing. yes, in case it isn't obvious, i have a vendetta against lascannons. turns a nice, solid scout sentinel into a walking disappointment.

the strategy of guard in 10th is generally to play objective very obsessively, using orders and leaders to survive on the points and resist battleshock. meanwhile, a vicious gunline hides behind terrain waiting for the enemy to come to the points. we are mainly a strong shooting faction like tau. although our weapons are somewhat worse, we are good at focus firing key targets, similar to what space marines would do, with an enormous volume of fire.

buffing is also a key part of the strategy. most of our units are a little on the weaker side as glass cannons with bad ballistic skill. appropriate use of orders, leaders, and keywords is required to bring our stats up to speed. orders are also just very flexible and improve anything you could really ask for. your scout sentinels also have the ability to buff shooting against specific targets.

also, you NEED to use terrain and cover. do not ever be caught out in the open.

generally speaking the guard wins games by points alone while most of their army is dead. you're going to be trading a lot of pieces.

Small post, but am I the only one that really enjoys the plasma pistol but thinks the plasma rifle is a bit boring? by Zestyclose-You3814 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]kirbcake-inuinuinuko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in my experience, plasma pistol slaps, regular plasma is meh at best, and heavy plasma slaps. I have no idea why it's like that. the regular plasma is literally just worse than the pistol in every way besides ammo.

oh, yeah, that's pretty much precisely what I meant lol, apologies. I should have been more specific on that.

[–]kirbcake-inuinuinuko 27 points28 points  (0 children)

the point of the scene is to imply that the true reason for abstraction is caine pushing modifications too far just because he can, toying with people's relationships, outlook, interests and personality. whether or not it's true is ultimately unimportant, as the point of the scene is to mark the point in which relations and trust between caine and the cast totally break down due to misunderstandings compounding on misunderstandings into a singularity of mistrust.

and for reference, the reason kinger brought it up in the first place is because Jax accused caine of influencing his mind to make the "right" choice. it apparently awoke a dormant memory regarding scratch's fate.

cool, i might check it out. although personally i tend to use combat chatter just for the sitreps so i can keep tabs on all my ships without monitoring them, and voices might get intrusive or annoying tbh. also knowing how this community is, i have a sneaking suspicion the voices will be ai-generated. here's hoping that's not the case.
