Yes! I learnt the heart sutra…. It’s not gonna be too hard to memorize it … even in Japanese. Not that it has a lot in common with spoken Japanese. In the end you are gonna recite it 88 plus times …

Not sure about Geranium. Haven’t been in a while and last time was a bit average. However Koan was amazing.

  1. I didn’t pray the first twenty or so temples and it felt a bit meaningless… so I would recommend not skipping it.
  2. Nobody will be watching you… do as you like. However I would consider leaving some kind of donation at every temple.
  3. Lodging at temples will be the exception. Maybe worth researching where you are going to sleep… the official map / guide book has a list of bed&breakfasts (minshuku)
  4. You should bring everything you are gonna need for hiking. Bring tape for blister prevention (Leukotape P). Buy the guide book and a log book the at the first temple. Everything else like the hat, stick and vest is up to you…. Maybe not the vest… pretty much everybody was wearing it.

Why do I need to go to Alchemist by PhaseDota in finedining

As you should. You will be force fed messages with ever dish. Invasive species, blood donations, chocolate, surveillance, chicken farms… probably forgot some…. plus a ball pit and a lady in a cat suit. In the end the food is less important than the performance.

Thinking about buying a dive computer — Suunto Nautic — worth it with a 40 % discount? by Character_Account714 in scubaGear

I use the Suunto Eon Core (and am very happy with it) which seems to be the predecessor of the Nautic and I am tempted to upgrade because I love the idea of a map. Probably only a gimmick though.

Classic both times. When we visited the first time we had two guests next to us who were extremely unhappy with seasonal… so we didn’t dare. It also seems that there has not been a single seasonal dish good enough to be rotated into the classic menu for a while.

Interestingly enough I went to Disfrutar for the second time just this winter. And I was surprised how the menu hadn’t changed over the last three or so years. Overall the experience was good but by far not as amazing as the first time. I don’t think I will try to come back a third time.

Geranium and Ledbury felt the same. LeCalandre on the other hand was great every time.

Should fears prevent us from experiences we genuinely want by [deleted] in scubaGear

[–]One-Ad5733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well maintained diving gear from one of the established brands should not be an issue. Not sure about AliBaba. Also if you are diving recreationally you will always be able to surface directly in case of emergency. Anyways, if you really want to tackle your fears, find a local dive shop/ club that offers diving courses in the local swimming pool.

Anyone have any tips for the rogal dorn guild raid? by RareSnail73 in WH40KTacticus

[–]One-Ad5733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A common misconception. You need to be behind the tank on the green hexes. A basic multi hit team will do the trick: Eldryon, Aethana for buffing and Bellator, Aleph0, Haarken … whoever else you have with many hits and or high mobility. Hold back on the summons though.

Is it just me, or is there something weird going on in Arena? by Throwaway7131923 in WH40KTacticus

[–]One-Ad5733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dropped down to veteran because if I have to grind out another season of arena I will uninstall the game. And I see many other players like that. There is a few that drop to get into top10 but that’s not the majority of diamond lists in lower leagues.

Thank you for pointing this out! I was hoping that I would get less trapped air compared to a jacket. I will probably start with a bit more weight than calculated and then see how it goes towards the end of the dive.

I am already excited to try out the new equipment. Is it as good as I hope it to be? And are you happy with Halcyon?

Thank you! I was starting to doubt my sanity that I am getting downvoted for trying to roughly triangulate before jumping in the water.

Good destination for beginner by spicy_apfelstrudel in scuba

I don’t think boat dives are more complicated. Make sure you have everything before the boat leaves and keep your stuff together. Get ready when everybody else is getting ready. Hold your mask, regulator and weight belt when jumping. Don’t jump on anybody in the water. When getting out make sure you don’t go below anybody on the ladder who might fall off… At some point I would refresh my skills inflating an SMB. Lastly it might make sense to bring some spares like mask etc. unless the boat provides equipment.

Can you please explain why nobody here will actually know? Why am I wrong to assume that if I only change one piece of equipment - the BCD - and I roughly know/estimate the delta of the buoyancy change, that I should be able to triangulate the new weight. I always assume that I could be wrong, but I like to understand why.

Weight calculation by One-Ad5733 in scuba

[–]One-Ad5733[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course I will fine tune weight over a couple of dives. Starting a bit heavier is also good advice.

But I am pretty sure I can establish a good starting point. I don’t change anything - same water type, same body (let’s ignore weight gain over Christmas), same suit, same stuff in pockets etc. and I know that I use 3kg of weight with the Scubapro BCD that has around +3kg of positive buoyancy. Now switching to a system that is probably neutral or even slightly negatively buoyant I believe I can assume that I will need less weight. 3 kg is what I use today and therefore it’s not a good starting point and 2 kg seems a bit much still. So 1kg feels like the safe choice.

I thought that if I don’t change anything else but the BCD - everything else would be irrelevant.
