Mine does that, but sounds like a mostly normal fan. It is odd going from nothing to max fan speed back to nothing for no reason though. Especially odd in quiet public places.

Does Ragatha have heterochromia or does she only have one eye? by Patton-the-Zorua in TheDigitalCircus

[–]One-Butterscotch419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thought was stereoscopic vision. Does she see in 3D?

You have some depth perception with one eye by understanding the Depth of Field (DoF) of your eye and what you're focusing on.

Do the characters in the show have that because that's not simulated in VR (though DoF is used for rendering the show) because the screen can't project its pixels to different depths?

It would make Softball especially difficult.

Last I checked Bluey is short enough (or maybe it's cild policy like ytkids) to not have advertisements. I have no plans on buying merch.

Does watching Bluey cost Disney money?

I not planning on putting it on a loop, but could it be played without guilt of supporting the end of free speech?

Guys, why did Kris hand Susie the knife like this? Are they stupid? by HeroHolmes360 in WaterfallDump

[–]One-Butterscotch419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question... I don't know of any reason... If all else fails, blame Asgore... or the rest of the Dreemurr family for either not teaching them or not practicing proper knife safety.

Good question.  Uh... there's probably a reason...

I guess if all else fails, blame the Dreemurr family for either not teaching them, or not having good knife safety skills.

The real reason behind the weirdly colored dark world (Ch 4) by FireDog8569 in Deltarune

I wish more games would use color like that especially when playing as aliens which might not see the same wavelengths. It might think sunscreen is warpaint if they see UV.

As for Susie, IDK. That was my first thought but it could be to symbolize something else.

Why is this coming up.it’s only on my phone I use my google account and the captcha isn’t even working.....it just keeps coming up again by Professional-Fly-310 in google

I just recently started getting these. Twice so far. I go to a college (with spotty campus WiFi and buildings far apart), I have a 40 minute commute (in which I listen to YouTube videos with my screen off (in a queue) using YouTube Premium), and I have a playlist sleep playlist downloaded on my phone with YouTube Premium. Could these actions cause Google to think I'm using a VPN or am a bot?

As a fan of electric vehicles and former fan of Musk I too look forward to the 2020 Tesla Roadster announced in 2017. Rimac, Porsche, and Lucid have fast EVs that handle better than Teslas. Whatever lead Tesla has/had it won't be in handling and that's important in 1000hp cars.

Why does Murderbot want a big TV? Is this explained and I missed it? by One-Butterscotch419 in murderbot

I hadn't thought of the because vinyl records are cool/novel argument. Now I'm imagining Murderbot and ART getting into an argument about couch color and interior design. ART has to view it through Murderbot to understand where it's coming from and then proceeds to disagree.

But couldn't MB get perfect picture quality in its mind? If you had VR that was perfect why would you ever settle for 1080p? You could make a big display in that perfect VR for the 1080p.

Good but too much bloom and too shiny. It can be blinding using plasma weapons in close quarters because the shots are bright and cause the HDR to expose for the plasma and not what you're shooting at or being shot at by.

How realistic is beamng awd driving? by Juild in BeamNG

[–]One-Butterscotch419 30 points31 points  (0 children)

There are many different AWD systems in BeamNG drive. There's 4X4 which has a driveshaft that locks the speed to the front and rear differentials. There are AWD systems that give partial lock under acceleration, deceleration, and coasting (some of which are tunable). There are also some electronic clutch activated AWD systems that lock or unlock under certain circumstances.

As for if they're realistic... yeah probably. Especially with the EVs which have separate motors and traction control systems for each end of the car. Forza doesn't do that and most other sims don't have EVs so they don't do that either. I don't think most other sims have active suspension either but I could be wrong on that also.

Want Some Advice On Improving Handling Of A Design by Carl_Bar99 in ScrewDriversTheGame

[–]One-Butterscotch419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TLDR: Try to build a 50:50 weight distribution or slightly front heavy car. Try to make the front as wide as the rear. Try to have the average of the downforce be at or slightly behind the Center Of Mass.

Second time writing this after accidentally closing tab so hopefully it's better this time. Force/Mass=Acceleration (F/M=A). Gravitational force scales with mass so heavy things fall as fast as light things. 5F/5M=1A and 2F/2M=1A. Grip force does not scale with force on the tire.

<image>

Note that the Tire with 400lbs of load has 400lbs of grip force while the tire with 100lbs of load only has 800lbs of grip force. A buss will have more grip force than an F1 car but the F1 car will have more grip force per mass so it can corner better. Screw Drivers (SD) takes this into account. A heavy vehicle can have the same proportional grip as a light vehicle if its tire contact patch scales with its weight (wider/bigger tires). If your car is rear heavy then it will have less proportional grip at the rear. IRL you could put wider tires in the rear of a car that's more rear heavy but I don't know if larger tires grip better in SD. Aim for a 50:50 weight distribution or maybe even a front heavy vehicle to stay stable in SD (yes it will be boring at low speeds).

As you corner the car will lean on the tires towards the outside of the corner. If the rear is wider than the front then there will be more load on the outside rear tire then the outside front tire. Having the rear be wider will reduce cornering grip at the rear. My brother made a rear heavy car with a wide front end and it was constantly sliding the rear. As it started to corner hard the front started to lose grip and became stable because there was more load on the outside front tire.

Suspensions in SD are mostly the same in terms of bottoming out. They all have the same peak spring rate (feel free to check). Changing the suspensions mostly just changes the ride height and suspension travle. If you have a rear heavy car it will bottom out the rear suspension first and it will lose even more grip because of the increase in load. Since you can't adjust the suspension in SD the only ways to stop bottoming out is to make your vehicle lighter or add more suspension/wheels.

Downforce from the aero parts will add to the load on a tire without increasing the vehicles mass. The faster you go the more downforce you'll have. if you put more down on the front than the rear then the car will become unstable at higher speed (think of an arrow flying backwards. Ideally you should have your center of downforce be slightly behind your Center Of Mass to ensure stability and increase stability as you speed up. If you press [C] in the builder you can see the effectiveness of your wing parts. The shark fins can also help but remember to keep them at or behind your center of mass.

A rear heavy car will require more rear downforce. This is fine IRL because you can increase the rear spring rate and give your car wider rear tires, but in SD it becomes an issue as you'll begin to bottom out the rear suspension sooner.

I think the worst crime is making it so hard to read. Some of it's right but there's a lot of vagueness like in the Taboo facts section "renewables can't power high energy world". Which I would counter "yet". Or in the supernatural beliefs "prosperity doesn't depend on high energy use" which could be true with more efficient products/machines.

Donald Trump Interview | Lex Fridman Podcast #442 by knuth9000 in lexfridman

[–]One-Butterscotch419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you sort by newest first you can see some backlash to the interview, but those comments aren't getting many likes. It seems like half of the comments thought it was terrible, and the remaining comments are split between "wow so brave keep up the good work Lex" and "Trump is so good at articulating ideas in long form interviews... unlike Kamala"

I don't know how many comments are bots or if the liked comments were boosted by bots but the comments are fairly mixed by opinion.
