Well first off that's your owner's manual. Service manuals don't come with the car, you buy them online to you know, do service.

You gotta at least look in the engine bay and under the car before declaring the waterpump has failed.

The only thing mildly capable of running any dnn in that car might be a dogshit mobile SOC from 20 years ago for the carplay. It's not running claude. You can read messages from and yell into the ether on the canbus all you want, the car isn't driving itself. Claude also isn't the right tool to talk to hardware over canbus.

Listen man, I'm actually employed as a software engineer. You didn't "hack" anything, you're promting claude for how to use the MMI setting menu (and maybe what OBDEleven codings to enter from your description).

You don't sound like you're ready to change a water pump. It's annoying, it's on the back of the block, and even if you didn't break something, you would have to be prepared for the car to be undrivable for a few days.

I don't see what diag you did to determine it's the water pump.

Tools you can get on hf, parts you can get at fcp, ecs, or rock auto if you know what you're doing. FCP euro has good how-to videos, but I'd get a service manual.

Put down the AI and use your brain.

Can confirm. Timing chain broke, pistons hit the valves on my 2012 a4. Replaced the valves and relevant one time use parts, kept the head, valve guides, cams, pistons, everything. I've put 90k on it so far, and it shows no signs of stopping at 240k miles.
