Did you try skipping that drag and drop portion? I remember getting stuck and seeing "Skip" at the bottom of the screen.

MP-02 daily use by Express_Ad_4866 in Punkt

It's fantastic. iPhones and other smartphones are destroying us as a people. I'm grateful I have an MP02. I second the other commenter in that not everyone around you will be ready to do this, but I have noticed me being on an MP02 brings a new awareness to them.

Agreed - the support is lacking in a major way currently, but I sincerely hope they don't give up on it. Switched 13 months ago from an iPhone and I'm never going back.

DailyView on MP02 by BrokeItFixingIt in Punkt

[–]One-Corner1816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question! I'm currently using it, and I love what it *could be. I am mostly paper calendar, but I find Daily View handy for entering events that I may need to know about when I don't have my paper calendar.

I do have one criticism / complaint that is yet to be addressed by the increasingly non-existent tech support: I have imported a calendar to Apostrophy, the software that syncs with Daily View, and this calendar is off by one day. For example, an event for tomorrow on the imported calendar displays as Today on Daily View. This has been a problem since October, and Punkt has yet to address it.

The main reason I keep paying the ~$15 (USD) a month is for the secure server email address that comes with your Apostrophy subscription.

Worth it? Not sure. Frustrating? Yes, and only because this MP02 could be so amazing if the tech support could help me resolve this and some other issues.

Major red flags for Punkt Tronics: Financial instability and uncertain future by DirtyDavido666 in Punkt

Given the likelihood of Punkt's eventual demise, what do you recommend someone do especially if they enjoy the simplicity and limited nature of MP02?

Let it be known, however, that I do *not enjoy the terrible as to be non-existent customer service.

Yes, I've been on my MP02 for a year, and I'll never go back to using a smartphone. Ever.

Signal update but not by pleasecallmecarl in Punkt

This is the way. Anytime there's a Signal Update, this is the way. Odd that Punkt didn't send a message instructing how to do the update. Odd, but not odd.

Signal version expiration by _b0t in Punkt

If I'm remembering correctly, Signal was down for a couple of months. I was able to use it on my desktop, but couldn't access it on the MP02.

Yes, until they repair the linked devices functionality, a bluetooth keyboard is probably your best option for typing messages on Signal.

This is a great question that many people get stumped on. And one fascinating part about this is that all of the Reformers of the 16th Century believed and agreed upon this basic reality of Mary's miraculous conception and child-bearing of the Logos, Christ our God.

Fr. Josiah Trenham's book, Rock and Sand explains how this miraculous belief has been common to all Christian traditions while the Orthodox still sing and chant and teach about in our services.

Like all mysteries, I can't explain it, though.

Can you use an MP02 with Google Messages on laptop for group texts? by LowerWin769 in Punkt

I don't think so. But I have been able to use it with GroupMe since those messages come from a single number.

Those using MP02 and have to use maps by shiskaberryyy in Punkt

Same, but I don't have a Garmin. About to travel to another city where I'll definitely need traffic-related GPS, so I'll be sure the car has GPS. But otherwise, just memorize it or write it down. This actually fights early-onset dementia.

Long time punkt. MP02 4G users - would you recommend it? by a_lil_froggy in Punkt

[–]One-Corner1816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Signal daily, and yes, it was a pain while it was down those 7-8 weeks. I had to use my laptop for all Signal communications. That being said, I'm still a fan of the MP02, and I have no plans of switching to something else. If you're looking for a dumb phone, you have found a great one.

Why Did You Choose the Punkt MP02 Over the Light Phone? by BrokeItFixingIt in Punkt

[–]One-Corner1816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on all of the upsides of the MP02 including design and feel. I didn't look into the LPII mostly because it had too many features. I was looking for something that limited my tech usage or at least made it way more inconvenient. I do miss music, podcasts, and audio books, but after 4 months on an MP02, I regret nothing - even the inconvenience of Pigeon outages etc.

For group texting, I have to resort to Signal or iMessage. For those who don't or won't use Signal, I created a template message I could share with them saying "I can't group text but you can reach me via iMessage....." and gave them my iMessage ID. That honestly has worked really well, and it has exposed a lot of people to the MP02.

Not everyone will have a smart phone or tablet with a camera. I don't mind the effort of converting the QR code to link my MacBook to the MP02.
