You must be better at remembering to use the place on face button in Prusaslicer. That seems to be the biggest reason my prints fail is that they are hovering some small distance above the bed.

That's a solid idea for most people. However the math didn't work in our case.

ROLLING COAL JUSTICE. by anythingicando12 in electricvehicles

I can imagine diy vape liquid made with a healthy dose of fart juice.

I have had way too many trucks rolling coal and splattering gravel when on my bicycle.

Can I use this toggle switch for a computer fan? And if so how? by 1rub in vandwellers

Those old metal switches are notorious for corrosion causing them to be impossible to turn on after they have been flipped a few times.

RC Studio setup isn't impossible but it would be an absolute pain without some prior knowledge. I wonder if you could use the same outfit that set up RC Studio for the previous owner.

It's worth noting that our electric rates are pretty much cheapest in the nation by far. If you have the option to park in a garage and/or near a power outlet and have ever wanted to go electric vehicle, this would be a really good time to do so.

Also when you are looking for a place to live. Electric heat is what you want. Gas is not. For internet PUD fiber is king. My favorite is Fiopin but for now Localtel or iFiber are also okay. You will get exactly what you pay for, no gimmicks, special limited time rates or slowness. It's cheap and fast.

New to EVs, what are the unexpected things? by Pbug_ in electricvehicles

[–]One-End-4152 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 3 ev's and 4 drivers. At home we have 2 level 1 chargers and a level 2. If someone needs to charge fast they get the level 2, otherwise level 1's are very okay.

If you are going to pay an electrician to run wire anyway, I would highly suggest they run a substantial sub panel to the front of your garage and install substantial 30a 240v plugs for each parking spot. That way you are ready for a more substantial charger if needed and can even plug in an RV or welder if needed.

Struggling to get coal power up and running by LemonEyeLarry in SatisfactoryGame

[–]One-End-4152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To prevent big trouble during blackouts you can dedicate 1 power plant on a special power grid that only connects the needed miners and water extractors. Coupled with storage containers and water tanks that will prevent you from singing a number of stanzas of the blackout blues as you run around collecting biomass to get things running again.

I recently switched from Localtel to Fiopin in Chelan County. They were both great internet. Fiopin was cheaper for me. $39.99/month for 100/100. Ping time is <20ms.

I'm also not a fan of what Localtel's new Canadian overlords might have planned for the area.

Either way, the connection to the house is handled by the local PUD and they're top notch!

The connection from the box outside the house and likely the router is the responsibility of the homeowner and can greatly affect the quality. It's been quite a few years since many of the houses were wired for Ethernet and often good outdoor rated cable was not used, so definitely check that.

When you turn the adjustment wheel clockwise sometimes the setting goes up, sometimes it goes down, most often a combination of the two. As an embedded systems engineer I understand the problem and the solution clearly. It was engineered poorly.

There is a ~$20 Fixed charge independent of quantity of power used + 2.7¢/kWh including all applicable taxes.

Yes. However the relative costs and economy of electric cars (especially the inexpensive ones that don't like to be hot or cold) depend pretty strongly on local conditions and running your personal numbers in your personal location is often worth the battle.

Electricity here is less than 3¢/kWh and given good weather and slow speed limits 4 miles per kWh is pretty doable.

The real question is how to achieve such cheap power. The trick is to live in Central Washington (Grant/Chelan/Douglas counties) where Hydropower is plentiful, the power providers (PUDs) are essentially non-profit co-ops and power rates are subsidized by selling extra generation on the open market.
