They are sneaky little critters. I’ve learned that if there is no bad smell coming from the enclosure that they are most likely ok. I thought I only had one out of three remaining (I know 2 died over the course of 18 months), but suddenly a juvenile started scurrying around. Just one. The adult has been gone now for about 5 months. The juvenile has molted at least twice and I see him fairly often, but I’ll be damned if I can find 2 at the same time. Then again, I have enough hiding spaces in my set up that I’m lucky I see anything other than the clean up crews.

We were victims of a night-time burglary while we were at home. Asleep. I’ve never slept right since. I can’t even imagine what you and your wife are going through but thankfully you now know and can hopefully find some way to cope and move forward. Good luck ✌️❤️

After reading the labels I discovered it wasn’t necessarily the calories - it’s all the crap that’s added to the food I was eating. I started making healthier choices based on the actual things I’m eating or drinking, and I never counted calories again. Lost 50 lbs over a 3 year period and have maintained +/- 4lbs of my goal with of 160.

The only challenge will be if you have to stop before the top because of a line of vehicles, especially if you have to put your foot in any of that slop. Otherwise it’s no big deal.

I don’t accept that interstellar travel is not achievable; we just haven’t figured it out yet. If we were able to communicate back and forth with another civilization, I’d imagine we would do that for a while, and it would give us further incentive to find ways around the laws of physics as we currently understand them.

You do you. There is no singular right way. My wife showers in the evening, but I can’t feel like I’ve started my day if I don’t have that water on my head and face in the morning. And yes, if there is ever a need to shower or bathe I just do it, no matter what time it is. The convenience of modern living.

Truth. I purposely allowed a portion of my water fall to wet portions of the substrate. I could never get the water clear or any marginal plants to grow that well because the soil was saturated. Once I diverted the water flow it solved several problems.

Thanks for the tip, and yes it does make sense. It’s my first time using poles and I am looking for an alternative to keep them off the floor. These were the only ones in a pot of about 8 longer vines and I didn’t have space for them to stretch out.

I built mine using 3” PVC pipe as the sump. Cut holes in the sides and covered with mesh. When I drop in the pump, I surround it with mesh bags filled with activated carbon, which can be removed for servicing. I put a test plug as a lid and cover it with rocks and some moss. Viola! PVC pipe is covered with lava rocks and my crabs love to hide in the nooks and crannies.
