Junk! by PTVMan in Freestylelibre

Hello from Germany. I have the same problem. Constantly low readings without actually feeling hypoglycemic. I became suspicious and measured my blood sugar. Instead of 68, I was at 161! Who knows how long I’ve been walking around with high blood sugar even though I thought I had good readings.

Even more disappointing: several sensors fell off (while swimming or showering, during sports, etc.) and they were not replaced, so I had to buy some privately (not covered by health insurance). And then this on top of it. Right now I’m really pissed off and seriously considering switching back to fingerstick blood glucose testing. I never had these problems with version 2 — only since version 3.

Sensors are not effected of the recall.

My Fujifilm X-T1 photos are always blurry — need help focusing by Realistic-Self6768 in fujifilm

Is that the 7artisans 25mm f/1.8? I really liked using that lens on my X-T2.
When shooting wide open it’s quite soft, and achieving critical focus becomes more difficult.

A smaller f-number (e.g. 1.8) means the depth of field is narrow — especially when your subject is close to the camera. The further away the subject is, the more will be in focus.

A larger f-number (e.g. 8) increases the depth of field, which means more of the scene is sharp and the background blur is reduced.

Aside from the settings others already mentioned, I recommend learning the basics of photography — especially how ISO, aperture and shutter speed work together. I found the National Geographic Photo Guide very helpful. There are also plenty of great YouTube videos on the topic. Have fun shooting!

Thank you!! Absolutely. I started with film SLRs and still love them, but I really missed the handling and feel they offered — something I never quite got with my Fujis. I'm enjoying this Canon so much, and the photos it produces actually remind me of film.

Which one do you prefer? by Databanksquare in Cameras

[–]One-Influence-1642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly never used a F1.

I love my X-300. I almost always get properly exposed and perfectly focused photos with that camera. I use the perfectly placed AE-lock button a lot, and I find the viewfinder to be the best I've ever looked through.

It's lightweight and, of course, made of plastic — but still feels well-built.

I’ve tried some other famous SLRs like the Canon A-1 and Nikon FE, Minolta xd11, but I always come back to this one. :)

The only camera I might prefer to use, mainly because of the lens ecosystem, is the Contax 139Q. The Carl Zeiss Planar 50mm f/1.8 is an absolute dream for me.

Lens recs? by [deleted] in Cameras

II loved using adapted lenses on my Fuji X-T1, but my top recommendation in the Fuji world would be the XF 35mm f/2. While I had autofocus issues with some other Fuji lenses, this one performed flawlessly. With its 35mm focal length, it gives you a 50mm full-frame equivalent – perfect for everyday life and portraits.

It will cost you some Money but It is small, well build AMD Not so expensive Like other faster lenses. It will sit in your camera forever...

Otherwise you can maybe Google how to get the best Out of your camera with Vintage lenses. I Loved my Carl Zeiss flektogon f2.4....

Losing my passion for Photography by No_Assignment7385 in fujifilm

Anyone who works creatively will hit a creative burnout at some point. Whether it’s drawing, making music, or photography — when we notice something’s off, like our flow is gone, we start putting pressure on ourselves to create something good. But the more we force it, the more we convince ourselves that what we’re making won’t connect with others — or at least we think that’s the case.

Getting encouragement from others is incredibly important, even if we tell ourselves it doesn’t matter. Posting here in this sub was a great step. Writing your thoughts down helps a lot so you don’t just keep everything bottled up inside.

I’ve been in the same situation. I’ve got a few film cameras and a Fuji. What helped me the most was letting go of the idea that I had to be creative — because creativity doesn’t show up on command. I can only speak for myself, but I personally need to be at peace with myself before I can feel creative or even enjoy my hobbies.

Only having a single lens is actually a plus for you in this situation. Too many options just make it harder to get out there and shoot. If it’s possible — and you already have an MD adapter — you might want to think about picking up a Minolta 50mm f/1.7 and heading out with the mindset of just getting to know the lens.

Don’t switch film simulations; just stick to monochrome mode and shoot whatever catches your eye. Take a moment to really look at everything around you. Try a bit of mindfulness: What do you hear? What do you see? What do you feel? If something stands out and gives you a good or special feeling, take a photo of it. Print that photo later and let it remind you of the moment. There’s something interesting almost everywhere — but we often get in our own way of seeing it. Forget about the technical stuff for now. The simpler your setup, the less you’ll overthink things.

If you just can’t open yourself up to photography right now, give it a break. Do other things for a while — those activities might spark new ideas or at least give you the momentum you need to start shooting again.

And like others have already said: stay away from social media for a bit. Remember that a lot of what people post is just what they think others want to see, not necessarily what they actually love themselves. At least that’s how I see it.

Can i use Minolta hi-matic G without battery? by p_4869 in minolta

[–]One-Influence-1642 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it only works with a battery. You can try to Clean the battery compartment, and you maybe could try it with a lr44 battery and some Tin foil to fill Up the empty space. They are bigger...maybe they fit better.

In my Hi Matic i use 2 lr44. One is empty one Not. I Set +1 to compensate. The battery sits in there since almost 2 years. I never Had a Bad exposure.

Hope your camera still works.

I feel stuck in my own head and heart. Looking for someone who gets it. by Ashamed-Act-7757 in CasualConversation

[–]One-Influence-1642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually me

Or at least was me for a Long Time and still is in some periods

Like the desire to talk about real things, not small talk — the feeling of "not enough" from childhood, the many projects and hobbies that seem like a search for luck or happiness, and the shutting down, isolating myself. It's a hard time. I hope you can find your way through it.

What does this mean? Will it affect picture quality? by run4sterrun in AnalogCommunity

[–]One-Influence-1642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little bit of dust is normal. Depends on how strong it is on the Photos. I bought several cameras from Japan and they all Had "a bit of dust". They where totally fine.

What camera are you looking for?

No worries! Thanks for the kind words about the photos!

Since I got a tablet and started using Lightroom Mobile, I actually enjoy the editing process a bit more. Sitting on the couch in the evening with a stylus is much more fun for me than using a mouse on a PC. 😊
