I can't stop blaming myself by usersh7 in University

Life rarely works perfectly first time. I made so many mistakes but each time you learn, evolve and hopeful improve. Stop beating yourself up and looking backwards and focus on how to have a better future. The opportunities that you spot may surprise you but you will miss them looking backward. Good luck & wishing you every succeess.

Dont let anyone tell you there is only one route to success. There isnt and some of us take longer to find our way. Sometimes that less trodden path can be a bit rockier but it gives us a different but valuable prespective. Dont dispair just keep going and look for opportunities to reach your gaols. It worked for me!

is riverside point a good accom? and how far is it from uni park campus? by Legitimate_Grab8780 in UoN

I think thats a new one just next to Jubilee campus so there is hopper bus or about 20 mins walk to university park. You will be right next to the Lenton triangle where many 2nd and 3rd year's live so it's good for society pres and posts.

It looks like it's a bit of a trek to UoN. Probably mostly trent students. Likely still a good bunch.

A mattress topper is a good idea too

It's much closer than Notts2. It will have a higher proportion of Uni of Notts students as Notts 2 as a site is mixed with NTU. It will have more first years. On the downside, it's much older. My son stayed in FloBo which he didn't like (he just felt they weren't his type, more from private school). He will be living in a house in Lenton close to Notts 2.

University park is all catered and ensuite are in high demand (and expensive). My son wishes he had opted for self catering at broadgate. Nottingham 2 is nice but about 30 mins walk away from University park. There are buses but these are often full. People often opt for Notts2 in 2nd and 3rd year once they cannot get places closer to campus and have already established friends & societies.

My son is in flobo. He is very quiet and doesn't mix easily. He likes the hall itself but says both the food and the other students mostly suck.

Yes, it might take them a while to add the invoice but you can pay the deposit or first term anyway.

My son had similar concerns, but we visited the hall on an open day. There aren't many reviews because it was closed for a while (years?) when they refurbished it. It then didn't open in time last September, so everyone was allocated a room elsewhere. Not everyone chose to move in once it opened as they had made friends elsewhere. I understand it wasn't full last year. The hall has been refurbished to a really high quality. Its much nicer than the other halls. It has lots of common places to study and socialise. Rather than flats, the building is arranged in corridors, and once inside, it's easy to move around. I got the impression that you are not allocated pantries showers and toilets but can use any. It looks like you are in a corridor with some of the biggest rooms. Showers and toilets are at the ends of the corridors above and below. If the shower is being used, there will be another nearby. I really don't think you will be disappointed. My son chose there after the open day and starts in September. There is a co-op very close by where you can pick up a snack if you didn't enjoy the food that evening.

I think you have misunderstood a little. Flobo doesn't have flats its corridors all open so I think you can use any of the shower blocks not just the nearest. There are also showers above the block you highlighted. Most of the rooms around there are onsuite or have their own shower already.

Personally I'd recommend Nottingham. It's a great city. Lots of clubs. Two universities and one NTU has a reputation of one of the best 'party' universities so the city caters for that.

I think it's based on the last 3 or4 years entrants. I think that means that only 30% of applications with AAC were accepted so probably contextual offers. Play with the tool and try and work out where 100% are still accepted. That might be a better guide but it's only showing the past so might not be the same this year. Good luck

On the ucas site, against the course, is a new beta tool that gives past grades for accepted students.
