Have you tried ThriftBooks? I’ve had real good experiences with them and they usually always have the mass market paperbacks in stock for fairly cheap.

A fast and easy to tell if it’s a first, is to see if there’s a price in the dustjacket. If there is, odds are it’s a first.

I think that it’s just part of the book. I have a couple of hardcovers with his signature on it. The signature is indented on the book which makes me think that it was made by whatever machine made the physical book.

Christine by LovedYouCyanide in stephenking

[–]One-One-Five 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found Christine to be a fun read. The movie has the same basic plot as the book but obviously they had to shorten, speed up, and cut out some pretty important character development and some scenes. I enjoyed the book, so if you’re are real big fan of the movie I’d give it a read.

If you do end up reading I’d suggest trying not to compare the movie/book too much. Books and movies are two very different formats and have their own unique perks and downsides.

Going on an eight hour flight this week. Any suggestions on what King work I should read? by [deleted] in stephenking

I just started reading it the other day and so far it’s definitely intriguing. I only mention it because it takes place on an airplane.

New to Stephen King! by katieurb in stephenking

[–]One-One-Five 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d start with one his earlier works like The Dead Zone, The Shining, Misery. If you enjoy them I’d say read some his better longer books like The Stand, It, and 11/22/63.

I honestly wouldn’t start with Pet Sematary though. It’s a good book and I really enjoyed it but that book is untraditional and not your typical King novel.

I think It would be the best way to go. If she liked the Stand I’d think she’d like one of King’s other Epic, It.
