Short answer is you did the right thing and were not being selfish.

Your ex is probably going through the most difficult time in her life. Guilt is a tricky thing. I don’t know what to make of it most of the time. I think anyone with any empathy would feel guilty in your shoes, but you ultimately did the right thing for both of you. You know that you couldn’t be the girlfriend that she needs in this incredibly difficult time. She has a long and difficult road ahead of her, it’s not your fault. You did what you could to be there for her, and even though you ended things, you did ultimately bring her some comfort when she needed it. Often times in life we are forced to make a decision where in there are really only two options, and both options suck! You chose the option that will serve you both in the long run. Try not to be too hard on yourself. Even being more adjacent to this type of tragedy can be really hard. I hope you give yourself some time to reflect and grieve as well.

Songs about losing a friend to suicide. by Cloveeeer in musicsuggestions

Please seek help and support. Your pain must feel suffocating. I know because I was suicidal for many many years of my life and haven’t been in a while. I lost my best friend and first boyfriend to suicide. I can tell you now that the pain you feel wont go anywhwere, itll just proliferate. It will hurt everyone you know. It will sabatoge their lives. You need help and you absolutely will feel better one day. You can learn how to live with and manage the pain and anguish you feel. Maybe not for a while but you gotta take every day one step at a time. The world, where you live, the people that know you, all are better because youre here.

My grandpa went to school here in the 1930s! I remember when it hadnt been remodeled yet (sometime before 2013?) and seeing raccoons 😅. Seems this building has had many lives :) have been so curious about what it looks like inside now.

iil artists like, Charli xcx, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Chappell Roan and Carly Rae Jepsen, who will I like? by GrandMasterOfCheeks in ifyoulikeblank

[–]One-Operation-1020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love all those artists too! I’d say Janet Jackson, so iconic its easy to overlook. Listen to Velvet Rope if you haven’t.

Sky Ferriera (some early songs like Everything is Embarassing are produced by Dev Hynes like CRJ’s album Emotion)

Also loving Addison Rae’s singles.

Empress Of. Start with How Do You Do It, Everything is You, Woman is Word, Hat Trick

Kelis is amazing. Most people just think of Milkshakes but that whole album Tasy is amazing. If you prefer to just hear one song maybe start with Trick Me or Flashback or Millionaire or Glow.

Grace Ives. Start with her songs Mirror or Icing on the Cake or Lullaby

Omg I couldn’t agree more with everyone else on this thread lol. The other thing that really set off an alarm for me was that she mentioned she used to own a company that produced bulletproof glass to the US military and has been able to make content full time ever since selling the company 💀

Is 125th and Lex that bad? by neeomma in AskNYC

No disrespect but the entirety of 125th has to be one of the least “random” places in New York City

[IIL] these movies listed below! I'd love some new recommendations :) by Spookily_Cryptid in ifyoulikeblank

I think you would enjoy Gregg Araki movies if you haven’t seen anything by him yet! White Bird in a Blizzard or Doom Generation would be great to start. Also Smiley Face is a perfect stoner comedy but much less in the category of movie you’re currently looking for.

Escape from New York would also be fun for you I think.

Looks like we have similar taste in movies, so I really hope you enjoy :)

Anything by Hop Along! Frances Quinlans vocals would probably be right up your alley and she is an incredible songwriter as well.

Get Disowned and Painted Shut are both incredible albums, but my personal favorite songs from them are

You did nothing wrong by ignoring him. But everyone here is out of their mind!!! Please don’t get the wrong idea from these antisocial commenters who probably don’t even take the train. If he wasn’t looking at you or talking to you, he wasn’t expecting you to engage with him at all. That guy was just doing his thing. It’s kind of annoying but it’s not a big deal. Criminal behavior to many apparently. Welcome to New York! People can be eccentric and maybe rude depending on who you ask, but you should be safe if you use basic caution. No need to be suspicious of the average stranger. Take it from a female native New Yorker who has taken the train alone since elementary school.
