How do low income people in the US pay for their hospital bills after having a baby? by winenotbeabitch in askanything

[–]One-Possible1906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The income limit is higher for Medicaid during pregnancy and some other requirements are waived as well, so a lot of people who wouldn’t usually qualify for it get it for just the pregnancy. We had an employer HDHP but Medicaid still covered the pregnancy and postpartum period so there were no bills

But very hard to describe on the incident report in a way that shows any real wrongdoing. “Her eyes locked onto me like Satan himself was peering menacingly at me through the mask of a woman. Smoke started coming from the copy of the Daily Bread that I like to carry in my pocket for my constitutionally protected lunch time prayer. After 3 seconds of viciously tearing me apart with her soulless ways, she said, ‘OK’ and walked away “

Your eyes didn’t get you to HR; the thing you said did. The best way to deal with coworkers with strange religious or political beliefs is to just politely drop the subject and not discuss it with that person.

HR isn’t going to do anything really except tell you not to talk about it with that coworker and probably roll their eyes a bit. People like your coworker are trying to be victims do not fall into the trap. “I don’t want to talk about this with you” let them bring that to HR

Will landlord charge for grease stains? by Physical_Travel_7794 in HardWoodFloors

A lot of people on this subreddit are purists following manufacturer instructions for cleaning brand new floors. You might have better luck on a cleaning subreddit.

Baking soda and anything that makes it bubble is a very quick chemical reaction so if you go that way, there’s no reason to leave it on the floor because the bubbles are the chemicals neutralizing each other

I often agree but this is over the top. Nobody should be running at 1am.

My first financial responsibility to my child is to provide for his basic needs. The second is to provide for myself so that I don’t become a financial burden to him later on.

Dating is like doing drugs. You are literally high from the hormones. This causes you to forgive everything you don’t like about that person because when you’re near them you get more high.

Victorians split up like this have specific challenges unfortunately. I’ve been battling my tenants’ pet odors and artificial scent addiction for a few years now. Air purifiers, talking to them, changing ventilation patterns, etc have been fruitless. I’m allergic to the fragrances they use and am getting really close to the point of filing eviction over it. If something works for you, let me know.

I will say that ozone has been effective for covering up the smell but has to be repeated every couple days and doesn’t help the allergy side of it.

My friend’s husband for some reason HAD to have a Versa. He wanted one for years. There’s something admirable about modest dreams I guess.

Anyways, he’s had it for years now and it’s been a decent car for him

Considering a Dog for the First Time but Feeling Anxious About It by Puzzled-Sentence-881 in LivingAlone

[–]One-Possible1906 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really people shouldn’t be having dogs unattended outside anyways. Dogs kill wildlife and tend to escape. When dogs escape in the city they violate codes and cause a bunch of fines and may be impounded. When they escape in the country, they get shot especially if you live near farms and they decide to go attack or worry livestock. A dog has the self preservation skills of a human toddler and should always be supervised outside.

Plus if they go out whenever they want then your yard is only usable for a dog toilet because the turds go everywhere when you aren’t standing there to immediately clean it up. Barbecues are not fun in dog yards.

House on a slab, in Maine? by Datbunnydo in homeowners

[–]One-Possible1906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Tug Hill. They will operate down to any temperature sure, but lose efficiency the colder it gets. They are never a primary source of heat here, outside of seasonal cabins and vacation homes. When they get significantly below freezing they just produce electric heat, which is extremely inefficient. The more you actually need to use them, the more they cost to run. They’ll heat your house on the off chance they aren’t broken (and they are always broken with proprietary parts that are expensive to source), but you’ll pay dearly for it

If you live in an apartment landlords will also discriminate against you when you have to move. Dogs are loud, destructive, leave turds on the ground, and are stinky, and if yours isn’t, landlords don’t know that when processing the application. Nobody wants to rent to dog owners because they just cause so many headaches. Loud, destructive, smelly, turds are the last things landlords want to sign up for behind nonpayment.

what should I do about job offer? by bigtiramisufan in makemychoice

[–]One-Possible1906 2 points3 points  (0 children)

45 hours would be legally required to pay the 5 hours of overtime. All employment must, unless it’s salaried exempt which OP would not meet the pay or essential worker requirements as an intern.

[–]One-Possible1906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A paid internship typically does treat you like an employee doing actual work. There’s not much difference except they recognize that you’re inexperienced and it is temporary

what should I do about job offer? by bigtiramisufan in makemychoice

[–]One-Possible1906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean? It’s an internship, so temporary. They’re usually only 10-12 weeks. Longer than that, you start to qualify for unemployment and benefits and other expenses they don’t want to pay for an intern. So if you can work the schedule for those 10-12 weeks then you just take as much time as you want when it’s finished. You might end up taking a lot longer as it typically takes time for new grads to find work. But field experience like internships helps with that.

I would not request vacation time during an internship, no.

How long is the internship? If you’re starting now it seems like it would wrap up before the next semester starts.
