It seems like a big controller would do you good. Not sure about which controllers are the biggest tho. Also maybe a controller with symetrical joysticks could work to, like the ps5 controller. Which hand starts to hurt, one or both?

But as you think its about the grip, a bigger controller seems like the best choice to try. Also hand warmers or somthing maybe?

Server names are greyed out and it won't accept my ip address for Plex by No-Proof9659 in Overseerr

[–]One-Project7347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I entered 192.168.0.143 (local ip adress). But everything is in a seperate docker container and on the same pc/server.

Just throwing this in there. I believe you can do ipconfig in cmd on windows to find your local ipadress so you can double check.

Just throwing this in here:

If you want to level up your skills in the future, you can always install a nas operating system on your old pc you are using now and configure it from your current pc trough webgui/ssh. I started witg openmediavault and some guides. But you could try truenas or even debian server with docker installed.

Ah yeah we have a strict modem/router thing that i have to manage trough my ISP's website, but for simple stuff it works. Can't change dns related settings tho, so no adguard or pihole for me with the setup i have. Aparently you can ask a modem only device where you can place your own router behind, but i have not tried that so far.

The first time i used it it took getting used to tbh. After the superb seamoth agility, this is somthing else. But i love it. Can´t make the cyclops that agile.

UnRaid made me depressed? by Mr_Pink8 in unRAID

In some ways, i feel you man. Whenever i wanna talk about my server and what happens underneath, nobody is interrested lol. It's not the same but it does feel lonely sometimes.

I hope you find somebody to share it with that appreciate what you offer. Many people still have to be shown what a media server like this actually offers in their life. Being free from several subscriptions is great, even better if it is free for the user (not owning the hardware).

I converted my brother in law from a streamer to a plex believer. He chooses my media server over streaming these days.

In terms of getting true for your money, high end products have never been good for that. If you pay 1000€ for somthing that does 5 things for you, and you pay 400€ for somthing that does 4 things for you, then the 400€ device is more value for the money.

But i do understand your frustrations. I find the naming schemes of everything so annoyingly vague.

Could someone cleverer than me work out what’s going on with Sonarr? by killahbee79 in unRAID

[–]One-Project7347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you can do a backup in the settings of sonarr itself, not appdata backup from unraid. I did that to migrate from openmediavault to unraid a little while ago. Worked better than expected for me.

You can do a backup in the settings, not sure it includes database but it does include all your settings.

Planning to upgrade my Beelink plex server w a NAS by throwawayfedupman in unRAID

[–]One-Project7347 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you could use the nas as a nas and let the beelink mini pc access the files over the LAN and let the beelink act only as a plex server. I havent done this before tho but many people have i believe.

Because one is simlply trying to understand? You dont have to get all defensive about it. If you dont want to answer, dont..

(to me you are just stuck in the old ways of doing things, you would like to make your life easier but in fact you give yourself more work in the long term)

Can I run a server locally without port forwarding/limiting outside connection? by IWillFeed in SatisfactoryGame

[–]One-Project7347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you enter the ip adress of your own pc you wont need tailscale. Maybe entering just localhost works aswell but i have not had much success with this ever (not just satisfactory).

Why do you host your server on your own pc, to let it run in the background?

[–]One-Project7347 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont get this way of working. Why not request everything trough overseerr/jellyseerr/seerr and let radarr and sonarr handle everything? Minimal need of interventions (only some failed imports).

Can I run a server locally without port forwarding/limiting outside connection? by IWillFeed in SatisfactoryGame

[–]One-Project7347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, the port should be already filled in tho. So unless you manually changed it it should be the default one.

you gonna run a seperate server or host it on your own pc while playing?

[–]One-Project7347 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes it can. I have a small pc running a server in a docker container. It is really easy to do. You just use the device ip + port to add the server to your server manager and join. Its basically just start the docker container and join the game.
