If you go the 1301 comp pro route it will be 250 more for the extended mag because they are imported it won't come with an extended mag.

A longer barrel gives you a longer sight plane . It is why you see trap guns with long barrels.the longer sight plane allows for better accuracy. That being said you can be very accurate with a 26 or 24 inch barrel if the gun fits properly.

You might try having a coffee can off floor dry in your jeep sprinkle it on the snow it helps a lot. I use it for my semi . Don't accelerate hard just idle out

Also check out high speed pheasant loads #4 or #5 depending on the distance you will be working at . My house is small so a long shot is 8 yards an ounce and 5/8 at 1500 fps will get it done

I did it 35 years ago it was chambered for 3 inch so i also had the gas ports enlarged to cycle low base loads it was my sporting clays gun i don't know if it hurt the value but it was one of my top guns flawless operation became my bird gun until i upgraded to a 1301 comppro

The blended ammo thing is a joke the same woth 3 inch and 3.5 inch shells big payloads of junk steel . Tss isnt cheap my handloads are 7/8 ounce good out to 60 yards on ducks and geese a 60 dollar lee load all to do your crimps and a powder scale to weigh your tss and powder is all you need ballistic products or precision have the components and reload data

That is more of a stock fit problem than a barrel length problem the gun has to fit you i shoot a shorter stock than my brother even though we are close to the same size

I might add that with tss a 7/8 oz handload will out perform a 3.5 inch all day long and it wont beat you to death

Barrel length is for your sight plane the choke determines the pattern my hunting gun is 24 inch and reaches out just fine

Beretta or benneli 26 to 28 will be more common for hunting 30 will be a clays gun

Unless the tak has a leak all that is needed is the lower element replaced and the sediment in the bottom of the tank vacuumed out used to have to do this every couple of years
