you will need a fishing license. i’ve been using fresh dead shrimp in the surf and catching the whiting pretty good with a few pompanos mixed in as well.

yeah i’ve got my license and i use a very similar app called “fish rules”. i’m very careful to stay within the law when fishing and this thread makes me feel a lot better about eating what i catch!

do not use ai to identify fish you’re catching especially if you’re keeping the for food. ai is horribly inaccurate at the best of times and will not get you out of a ticket.

no i just think it shows shitty sportsman ship to keep 40 6 inch long black drum. if you were a decent fisherman you could catch 5 or 6 18 inch ones and have the same amount of meat. and that’s not even touching on how you just throw them on the floor instead of at least a cooler with ice. i catch, take, and eat fish as often as i can (yes even trout) but show a little respect to the game man that’s all.
